This is from the Telegraph March 25th 1964(60 years ago today) and this is the 4BK Top 10 with The Beatles at number 1 with I Saw Her Standing There which was from the Please Please Me album, the Beatles at number 2 with Love Me Do , The Trashmen at number 3 with Surfin Bird, the Beatles at number 4 with She Loves You, The Beatles at number 5 with I Want To Hold Your Hand, The Searchers at number 6 with Needles and Pins which was cover of the Jackie DeShannon song written by Sonny Bono and Jack Nitzsche, The Dave Clark Five at number 7 with Glad All Over, Lesley Gore at number 8 with You Don't Own Me/Run Bobby Run, the Beatles at number 9 with Roll Over Beethoven whch was a cover of the Chuck Berry song from the With The Beatles 1963 album with George Harrison on lead vocals and Gene Pitney at number 10 with Who Needs It/That Girl Belongs To Yesterday which was written by Mick Jaggr and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

Memoirs of A Piano Man by John Charter

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
