Living In The Material World George Harrison

On May 30th 1973 George Harrison released his 4th solo album Living In The Material World which was the follow up to the hugely successful album All Things Must Pass in 1970 and it went to number 2 in the UK, number 1 in the USA and number 1 in Australia which the hit single from the album was Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth). It was produced by George Harrison himself and among the musicians who played on the album including Jim Horn, Gary Wright from Spooky Tooth, Ringo Starr and Nicky Hopkins and also it is now on CD which I am reviewing the double CD edition. On the double which the first CD has the original tracks that was out in 1973 and the second CD had different takes and acoustic versions of the songs as well as Miss O'Dell and also George's widow Olivia and John Harris did the liner notes. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs which holds up very well to this day as well as still sounding great today as it did back then. it is 23 years s...

This is from the Telegraph December 4th 1963 and this was the 4BK top 10 with the Crystals at number 1 with the song written by Phil Spector, Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry Then He Kissed Me, Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireball at number 2 with Sugar Shack, Jimmy Little at number 3 with Royal Telephone, Gerry and the pacemakersat number 4 with their version of the song from the musical Carousel You'll Never Walk Alone, Kathy Kirby at number 5with the vocal version of Dance On which the Shadows the instrumental version of it early that year, Sheb Woolley at number 6 with Hootenanny Hoot, The Delltones at number 7 with the song written by Sydney dectective Ben Acton Hangin Five, Johnny Devlin at number 8 with Stomp The Tumbarumba which the Bee Gees were on backing vocals, Elvis Presley at number 9 with the song that was from the movie Fun In Acapulco which he starred with Paul Lukas and ursula Andress and rini Lopez at number 10 with Jeanie Marie.

This is from the Bribie Star December 3rd 1965 and now the talk back station as it's the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of top music radio stations in Brisbane at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were Geoff Atkinson, Tony MacArthur and Bob Wills who was on from 4pm until Midnight Monday to Friday and all day Sunday.

4BH December 1957

This is from the Telegraph December 2nd 1957 and now the classic hits station in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1950's which among their shows that was on was The Coca Cola Bottlers Club which was compered by Allen Brandt who had been with 4KQ and later on with 4IP which the show was on Monday to Friday at 4pm and Saturdays at 10am.

This is from the Telegraph December 1st 1961 and now the talk back station as it's the only commercial one in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who was an big part of 4BC's success in the 50's and 60's was on Sundays at that time doing the Super 70 Hit Tunes at 9am.
