4BH October 1962

This is from the Telegraph October 30th 1962 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane in 2025 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1960's which they were known for being a music station as well as doing competitions which one of them was Who Put the Flavour Back In Lemonade which was on between 4pm until 6pm and the listeners had to recognize their voice and win cash prizes in the Cottees competition.

All Engines On Live In London Foreigner

This is the live album Cd by legendary British American rock band Foreigner and it was recorded in London at the Camden Roadhouse on July 25th 2010 which at the live performed the classic hits including I Want to Know What Love Is, Cold As Ice , Double Vision, Hot Blooded and Urgent as well as an track from their 2009 album Can't Slow Down. It is an FANTATSIC live album with great songs with great playing band the band which includes original member Mick Jones as well as Jeff Pilson and Michael Bluestein and the band are still performing as they are doing shows in the USA and Canada for the remaining of this year and next year which Mick Jones has not toured with them due to him having Parkinson's. This is an must for fans of Foreigner and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

On The Road To Findout CD Yusuf/Cat Stevens

This is the new compilation CD by legendary British singer-songwriter Yusuf/Cat Stevens and it has recordings from the 60's including Matthew and Son as well as the 70's with classics including Peace Train, Wild World, Morning Has Broken, Moonshadow, Very Young, Remember the Days In The Old Schoolyard up to the recordings from 2006 until 2023. It is an FANTASTIC CD with FANTASTIC songs that has stood the test of time and still sound great to this day as great music endures which it is still appreciated after all these years. Yusuf/Cat Stevens has also released his autobiography recently and was supposed to go to North America for a book tour but was cancelled due to visa issues but let's hope for a Australian tour. This is a must for Yusuf/Cat Stevens fans which I give it 4 stars and it's in the shops now so do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is from the Telegraph October 25th 1974 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 70's which they were still playing music as well as doing talk back as well as promoting events which that weekend the station did the 4BC Family Funday which was held at the Bunya Park Wild Life Sanctuary with Brisbane group The Fairbachs and 4BC radio personalities appearing there along with Food and Drink Stalls, Merry go Rounds, Pony Rides, Fairy Floss, Vintage Car Rides and Barbeque Areas.

This is from the Telegraph October 22nd 1965(60 Years Ago today) and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's top radio stations at the time in the 60's which this advert was telling about the radio action competitions and their disc jockeys were Johnny James who did the Breakfast Show did dancing, Mike Baker who was on in the mornings did ice skating, Bert Birdbrain Robertson who was on during the day blow bubbles and Geoff Atkinson, Tony MacArthur and Bob Wills who was on late afternoon into the evening doing the gardening and the winners and prizes were annouced.

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the new Australian movie The Travellers. Stephen Seary (Luke Bracey) who is a stage designer in Europe returns home to Western Australia to visit his mother who is dying as well as well as navigating responsibilties with family as well as his relationship with father Fred (Bryan Brown), old friends and old lovers in what was meant to be a quick trip turns into chaos, drama and at time funny which gets interesting. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with FANTASTIC acting by Luke Bracey, Bryan Brown, Susie Porter and Nicholas Hammond and it is directed by Bruce Beresford who did also writing the movie and also produced by Michael Boughen, Matthew Street and Kelvin Munro. It is an feel good Australian movie which must be watched by everyone and I give it stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

On September 5th 1973 an singing duo from San Francisco named Lindsey Buckingham singer and guitarist and singer Stevie Nicks who had performed in a band called Fritz for 4 years performing around San Francisco who had met while in high school released the album Buckingham Nicks which was produced by Keith Olsen but it did not hit the charts and it was the one that caught the eye of drummer Mick Fleetwood from British rock band Fleetwood Mac while looking for a studio that would lead Stevie and Lindsey to join Fleetwood Mac that would the biggest band in the world as well as the classic line up would last 12 years and 5 albums including Rumours. The Buckingham Nicks album for over 52 years was never been re-issued, remastered or released digitally and it is now finally out on CD as well as digitally and vinyl. It's AWESOME, AMAZING, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and Amazing stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read. This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale where I saw the Smashing Machine which it's based on a true story. Michael Kerr (Dwayne Johnson) who is a wrestler and Mixed Martial arts fighter who has a girlfriend Dawn(Emily Blunt) and is coached by Mark Coleman(Ryan Bader) which he is preparing for a fight in Japan and Kerr goes there but gets knocked out which he does not take it well as well as having issues with drugs which he was overdoses but survives and goes into rehab for help while Coleman goes to Japan where He fights . Kerr comes out of rehab and goes back to fighting which he is coached by Bas Rutten(played by the real Bas Rutten himself)as he aimes to go by back to Japan for the Championship for the Grand Prix in 2000 which Coleman also goes there and it gets interesting. Yesterday afternoon I went to the Elizabeth Cinema in the City where I saw the movie Downton Abbey The Grand Finale. It's 1930 and things are happening to the Crawley Family and the staff with Mary (Michelle Dockery) is divorced from Henry Talbot, Cora's (Elizabeth McGovern) brother Harold Levinson(Paul Giamatti)comes to England from America after their mother's passing which he is accompained by financial adviser Gus Sambrook(Alessandro Nivola) which they have an mutual attraction, Mary's divorce causes the residents of Downton shun the Crawley Family and refuses an dinner invitation, Robert(Hugh Bonneville) agrees to entrust Downton Abbey to Mary which he and Cora plan to move to the dower house and it gets interesting. In 1971 British rock band The Who were at their height as they had the album Who's Next and on September 18th 1971 The Who played at the Oval Cricket Ground in Kennington London in front of 35,000 fans for the Goodbye Summer A Rock Concert in aid of Famine relief of Bangladesh which on the bill with them were The Faces with Rod Stewart and Mott The Hoople which among the acts and it was recorded by Glyn Johns on an 8 track analog tapes using the Pye Mobile Recording Unit but it was never released until now. On the recording they performed songs from the Who's Next album including Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again, tracks from Tommy as well as the hits at that time including I Can't Explain, My Generation and Magic Bus. On Wednesdaynight October 1st I went to see legendary Australian singer Rick Price which it was my first time seeing him live. Caught the bus to Cleveland, went to the Cleveland Sands Hotel where I had Steak, Chips and Salad for dinner, drank Coke with No Sugar, ate Chocolate Brownie, walk to Redland Performing Arts Centre, Bought CD and went inside. The show started at 7.30pm with Rick Price coming on stage wearing a hat and there was an guitar and piano no band just Rick and the instruments and was on stage for an hour and an half no interval doing songs some from his new album as well as his classic hits from the 90's including Walk Away Renee, Not A Day Go By and River of Love as well as telling stories about his career including living in Beaudesert as well as his start in the business which mainly he played guitar for most of the show but he played piano for 2 songs. This is from the Telegraph October 1st 1968 and long before known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits station as well as being an country music station in the 80's 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's as the Better Music Station which it was playing Easy Listening music by acts like Herb Alpert and the Tjiuana Brass which among the station's disc jockeys was Bruce Ross who did the Breakfast Show Monday to Saturday and also got a mention by Ian Skippen when he was interviewed by Murray Shoring on the final night of broadcast when 4KQ ended on Thursday June 30th 2022.
