The Who Live At The Oval 1971
In 1971 British rock band The Who were at their height as they had the album Who's Next and on September 18th 1971 The Who played at the Oval Cricket Ground in Kennington London in front of 35,000 fans for the Goodbye Summer A Rock Concert in aid of Famine relief of Bangladesh which on the bill with them were The Faces with Rod Stewart and Mott The Hoople which among the acts and it was recorded by Glyn Johns on an 8 track analog tapes using the Pye Mobile Recording Unit but it was never released until now. On the recording they performed songs from the Who's Next album including Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again, tracks from Tommy as well as the hits at that time including I Can't Explain, My Generation and Magic Bus. It's AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs which it's sounds great with great playing by the Who who were I already said at their height and the Who historian Andy Neill did the liner notes on the booklet for the CD as well as Who member Pete Townshend as executive producer. The Who have done their Farewell Tour called The Song Is Over of North America which they just finished it on Wednesday and this CD is an must for Who fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
