Classic Albums Some People's Lives by Bette Midler
For this week's classic albums segment for the second time let's have a look at the 1990 album by Bette Midler called Some People's Lives. It was recorded at Ocean Way Studios and 55 Studio Ultimo (Los Angeles) , Battery Studios, BMG studios, Electric Lady Studio and Green Street Recording New York and it was released September 4th 1990 which went to number 6 in the USA, number 5 in the UK and number 7 in Australia which it went double platinum as it sold 2 million copies in the USA alone. It was produced by Arif Mardin who had worked with the Bee Gees in the 70's and he did the arranging with Robbie Buchanan and from the album it had the huge hit From A Distance as well as other singles Night and Day, The Gift Of Love and Midnight Parking. It's an great and wonderful album with great and fantastic songs which has stood the test of time and still sounding great to this day as we still hear From A Distance on the radio as it's a message of Hope and Peace as well as until tonight had not heard Night and Day since the early 90's when I use to hear it on 4KQ. It's 30 years since the album came out and i'm sure it is still in the shops somewhere so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed with these songs so let's hope for an reissue too.
