This is from the Courier Mail November 19th 1965 and this was the 4BK Top 40 charts with Sonny and Cher at number 1 with Sing C'Est La Vie, MPD Limited (Mike Brady, Peter Watson and Danny Finley) at number 2 with their version of the Johnny Burnette 1961 hit Little Boy Sad, The McCoys at number 3 with Hang On Sloopy and Normie Rowe and the Playboys at number 4 with the double sided hit Que Sera Sera (which was a cover of the Doris Day 1956 hit)/Shakin All Over(cover of the 1960 hit for Johnny Kidd and the Pirates). the new entries in the chart that week were The Easybeats at number 34 with Sad and Lonely and Blue, The Seekers at number 37 with the song written by Tom Springfield The Carnival Is Over and Bob Dylan at number 39 with Positively 4th Street and besides from MPD Limited, Normie Rowe, The Eaysbeats and The Seekers the other Australian/New Zealand acts in the charts that week were Ray Brown and the Whispers at number 5 with their version of the wilson Pickett song In The Midnight Hour, Brisbane boy Tony Worsley at number 8 with Velvet Waters, The Easybeats at number 12 with Wedding Ring, Another Brisbane boy Billy Thorpe with the Aztecs at number 20 with the double sided Hallelujah I Love Her So(cover of the Ray Charles song)/Baby Hold Me Close (cover of the Jerry Lee Lewis song), Little Pattie at number 22 with Dance Puppet Dance/I Just Need Your Love and Dinah Lee at number 33 with her version of the Ike and Tina Turner song I Can't Believe What You Say. Also on this day 59 years ago Australian singer Noeleen Batley appeared on the Brisbane variety show Theatre Royal hosted by George Wallace Jr and among the gigs that night was Del Juliana at the Bowl in South Brisbane with Brisbane acts The Escorts, The Loose Ends, Johnny Denver(Brisbane singer) and Darryl Weale.
