Tina Turns The Country On Tina Turner

In September 1974 American singer Tina Turner released her very first solo album Tina Turns The Country On which was while she was performing with her then husband Ike Turner as it was an attempt by Ike to expose to Tina to an wider audience but even though it did not chart anywhere it was nominated for a Grammy in the Best R&B Vocal Performance Female category and it is now out on CD. On the album it has the original tracks which was mainly covers of songs by peopel Olivia Newton John, Bob Dylan, Hank Snow and James Taylor and it was recorded at Bolic Sound in Inglewood California which owned by Ike Turner as well as among the musicians playing on the album were James Burton who had played with Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley and Glen D Hardin who was also playing with Elvis at that time as well as having an member of the Crickets. It is excellent with great songs with great singing by Tina and it holds up very well to this day. On Tuesday November 26th it would have been her 85th birthday and it's been an year since her passing but the music she made still lives on forever as great music never dies it gets appreciated after all these years. This is an must for Tina Turner fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
