4BK Top 40 November 1962
This is from the Courier Mail November 2nd 1962 and this was the 4BK Top 40 charts with Roy Orbison at number 1 with Workin For The Man, Duane Eddy at number 2 with Dance With The Guitar Man, Gene Pitney at number 3 with If I Didn't Have A Dime and Del Shannon at number 4 with the Roger Miller song The Swiss Maid. The New entries in the charts that week were Dig Richards at number 30 with Raincoat In The River, Rex Allen at number 35 with Don't Go Near The Indians and Walter Brennan the Hollywood actor at number 39 with Mama Sang A Song and besides from Dig Richards the Australian acts in the charts that week were Frank Ifield at number 23 with I Remember You, the Joy Boys featuring Col Joye's brothers Kevin and Keith Jacobsen at number 37 with Waltz of The Flowers and Bryan Davies who was hosting his own TV show at the time on the ABC at number 38 with the song written by Chet Clarke and Bob Wilkie Ten Pin Bowling. It was the same week on November 1st 1962 that British musician Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen played at Festival Hall in Brisbane which the Brisbane group The Varsity Five Plus 2 were the support act.
