Listen Like Thieves INXS

It is 40 years ago this year when legendary Australian rock band INXS released the album Listen Like Thieves which was recorded in Sydney at Rhinoceros Studios as well as being mixed at AIR Studios in London and went to number 1 in Australia, number 11 in the USA and number 48 in the UK which the album had 4 hit singles What You Need, This Time, Kiss The Dirt and the title track and also it now out on CD as an Extended Edition to celebrate the releases of the album. Besides from the original tracks including the hit singles which it is on the first CD and the second CD has b-sides, live recordings during the 1985/85 period and remixes of the songs. It is AWESOME , BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs that has stood the test of time and sounding great today as it did back then and the extended Edition of the album was remastered as well as mixed by producer Giles Martin who is the son of iconic British record producer Sir George Martin and Paul Hicks who is the son of guitarist of the legendary British group the Hollies Tony Hicks. It is 28 years ago this November when lead singer Michael Hutchence passed away but the great music he made with INXS lives on forever and this is an must for INXS fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

Memoirs of A Piano Man by John Charter

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
