This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Garden City to see the New Zealand movie. Maeta Percival(Anapela Polataivao) is an Samoan school teacher in Christchurch who loses her daughter in the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake and 3 years later is urged by her nephew Sio (Beulah Koale) who is an social worker to apply for the job as an substitute teacher at the St Francis School which it's an private school and is accepted despite reservations by the school board which they were urged by principal Alan Hubbard(Dalip Sondhi). Mareta encounters Sophie an student (Antonia Robinson) while playing piano which she sings and teaches an group of students who each have personal issues which she then puts together an choir bringing them together as they starting to sound good and then things gets interesting. It is AMAZING, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with SUPERB and BRILLIANT ACTING by Anapela Polataivao, Beulah Koale, Dalip Sondhl, Antonia Robinson, Nicole Whippy and James Irvine. It was directed by Miki Magasiva who also produced it with Dan Higgins and Mario Gaoa and wrote it as well. I am giving this 4 and an half stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
