4IP September 1969

This is from the Telegraph September 30th 1969 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB which is now Radio TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the late 60's which besides from the music they use to promote events which one of them was the Warana Beer Festival at the Glen Hotel which is in Eight Miles Plains which Billy J Smith who would go on to great success on TV was one of 4IP's radio personalities at the time and the the acts who performed there were the Australian pop group The Town Criers known for the hit singles Everlasting Love and Love Me Again, German Club Band and Folk Dances Of Germany.

New Arrangements and Duets Van Morrison

This is the new album by legendary singer Van Morrison which has unreleased material as the tracks with the big band was recorded in 2014 and the vocals with Willie Nelson and Kurt Elling were recorded in 2018 and 2019 and the Curtis Stigers and Joss Stone were recorded in 2018 and the songs are all written Van Morrison as well as the musicians on the album including Willie Nelson's son Lukas on 2 tracks, Dave Keary on guitar aand Jim Mullen on guitar on 3 tracks. It's an FANTASTIC album as with great songs as well as swinging with great singing by Van who is still going strong at age 79 and is doing shows in America next month. I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Runt

This afternoon I went to the movies at Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the Australian movie Runt. Annie Shearer (Lily LaTorre) and her adopted Dog Runt who live on the farm in Upson Downs with her parents Bryan(Jai Courtney) and Susie(Celeste Barber) along with her brother Max(Jack LaTorre) and grandmother Dolly(Genevive Lemon) who are going drought and misery as landowner Earl Robert-Barren (Jack Thompson) is threatening to take the farm and they compete in the local agility show as well as the national agility Show which they win both and they go to London with Bryan to compete in the Agility Course Championship at the Krumpets Dog Show which gets interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Lily LaTorre, Jai Courtney, Celeste Barber, Jack LaTorre, Genevive Lemon, Jack Thompson, Debroah Mailman, Matt Day and Sarah Roberts and it is directed by John Sheedy, produced by Jamie Hilton and Craig Silvey and the executive producers are Howard Cearns...

This is the latest album by Pink Floyd member David Gilmour which was recorded at Medina Studios, Salvation Studios, British Grove Studios, Angel Studio, Astoria Studio and Iguana Studio over 5 months and the most of the songs on the album are written by Polly Samson who is the wife of David Gilmour except 1 which was an cover of the Montgolfier Brothers song Between Two Points and another song written by Polly Samson, David Gilmour and Charlie Gilmour (His son). It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs with great singing and playing by David Gilmour who is still sounding great at age 78 and among the musicians on the album are Guy Pratt who was played with Pink Floyd and American drummer Steve Gadd who plays on some of the tracks and Roger Eno who is the brother of Roxy Music member Brian Eno. John Williamson @ Redland Performing Arts Centre

On Sunday September 22nd I went to the Redland Performing Arts Centre to see legendary Australian singer John Williamson which it was my first time seeing him live as I was going to see him in November 2022 but was postponed which they changed it to march 2023 but I couldn't go and then during last year I booked for this show which he was supposed to do play on February 1st this year but he had hurt himself so they changed it to September 22nd which I am glad to go this one. I caught bus to Cleveland, walk to the Redland Performing Arts Centre, went inside and waited. The show started at 3pm with John Williamson coming on stage with his back up band as he did 2 sets started off with an new song called Beautiful Words which he is planning to record an new album that will be out next year as well as performing 2 new songs for the new album I'm Not Marlin Brando as well as performing the classics songs he recorded over the years including Mallee Boy, Sail The Nullabour, ...

Melinda Schneider Farewell To Doris Show @ Kedron Wavell

On Saturday 21st September I went to Kedron Wavell to see Australian Country singer Melinda Schneider which was my first time seeing her as she was doing the tribute show to iconic American singer Doris Day calling Farewell to Doris. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught the bus to city which I got off at King George Square, saw Andrew and caught bus to Kedron Wavell. Went to the Kitchen, rang Dad, Saw Sue who I knew from Bowling as I bowled with her son Ben, had Portugese Chicken, potatoes and Broccoli for dinner, drank Coke with Coke with No Sugar and Ate Banana Split. Had the ode at 7pm, went up to the Blue pacific Room, use my mobile and Saw Daryl who I have not seen in 5 years. Yesterday afternoon I went to Kedron Wavell to the Elvis Trilogy show which was my 2nd time seeing it as I saw it last year. I caught the bus from Coorparoo to South Brisbane, caught bus from South Brisbane to Chermside, had a look at Dymocks and JB Hi Fi and walk to Kedron Wavell. Went to the Kitchen, had Steak, Chips, Chicken Wings and Salad for lunch, drank Coke With No Sugar, ate Fundae which I was very lucky this time as I got it nearly 10 before before the show started and went to the Blue Pacific Room. The Show started at 2.07pm with Louis Brown who I saw at Cooly Rocks On in June came on first doing the 50's Elvis doing the classics including Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Suede Shoes, Such A Night, It's Now or Never, Don't Be Cruel and many others which in between songs Louis changed into different jackets as well as showing clips and during Jailhouse House an guy named Kerion came on stage with Louis which he threw his glasses into the audience and Michael Chambliss came...

Icons Of A Era Show @ Mt Gravatt Bowl Club

Last night I went to Mt Gravatt Bowls Club to see the Icons Of A Tribute to Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Ricky Nelson and I had not seen an show at the Bowls Club for 11 years since Saturday March 16th 2013 when I saw the Faboulous Sounds Of the 60's show with Darren J Ray and the Love Bugs. I caught the bus to Mt Gravatt, walk to the bowls club, saw friends including Tasha, Karen, her dad Malcolm, John and Michael who were there with Lifestream, Saw Heidi who was involved with the show, rang Dad, ordered my meal and use my mobile. Had Chicken Breast, Chips and Salad for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, ate Hot Apple Bites and went inside. The show started after 7.30pm with Rick Hudson from Melbourne coming on doing Elvis In Hollywood singing songs that ELvis Performed in his movies including Kissin Cousins, Follow That Dream, King Of the Whole Wide World, Rock A Hula Baby, Can't Help Falling In Love, Come On Everybody and others which in between songs he would go backstage to ch...

This is from the Telegraph September 7th 1966 and 4BC which is now the talk back station as it's the only commercial one here in Brisbane was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time back in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Johnny James who had been with 4BC since the 50's did the breakfast show from 5.30am until 9am.

This is from the Telegraph September 6th 1963 and until 1990 when it became B105 4BK was one of Brisbane's very popular radio stations at that time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were John Esdaile who was on Saturdays from 5am until midday doing Saturday Swingalong that included Top 40 Music, The Ampol Check n Fill Eight, Money For The Memory, Stop The Music and Guinea Money and Guinea Game Bonus.
