Icons Of A Era Show @ Mt Gravatt Bowl Club

Last night I went to Mt Gravatt Bowls Club to see the Icons Of A Tribute to Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Ricky Nelson and I had not seen an show at the Bowls Club for 11 years since Saturday March 16th 2013 when I saw the Faboulous Sounds Of the 60's show with Darren J Ray and the Love Bugs. I caught the bus to Mt Gravatt, walk to the bowls club, saw friends including Tasha, Karen, her dad Malcolm, John and Michael who were there with Lifestream, Saw Heidi who was involved with the show, rang Dad, ordered my meal and use my mobile. Had Chicken Breast, Chips and Salad for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, ate Hot Apple Bites and went inside. The show started after 7.30pm with Rick Hudson from Melbourne coming on doing Elvis In Hollywood singing songs that ELvis Performed in his movies including Kissin Cousins, Follow That Dream, King Of the Whole Wide World, Rock A Hula Baby, Can't Help Falling In Love, Come On Everybody and others which in between songs he would go backstage to change in different clothes there would be an trivia about Elvis and when he did the Elvis songs that were clips of the movies he was in that songs were from and after Rick's set Andy came on doing the Roy Orbison set doing the Roy Orbison classics from the 60's to the 80's including Pretty Woman, Crying, In Dreams, Handle With Care, You Got It as well as showing photos of Roy Orbison. There was an interval where I drank Coke with No Sugar and got photos with Rick and Andrew and the show started with Rick doing an tribute to Ricky Nelson which he performed many of his hits from the 50's and 60's including Stood Up, Believe What You Say, It's Late, Poor Little Fool, Travellin Man, Hello Marylou, It's Up To You and his 1972 hit Garden City which showed clips of the songs which during one the songs they showed an clip of Ricky Nelson singing to an blonde hair girl which I got the anwser as it Was Tuesday Weld who also appeared with Elvis in the 1961 movie Wild In The Country and Rick talked about his encounters with Ricky Nelson when he came to Australia in 1982 and 1985 which they showed the photos as it was amazing and also after Rick's set Andrew came on stage doing the Elvis segment which he was wearing the gear he wore in the 60's and 70's period as I stayed for 2 songs. I left at 10.30pm, went outside, Dad picked me up, stopped at Maccas, bought burgers, fries, sundae and Coke With No Sugar and came. It was an FANTASTIC show whch both Rick and Andrew were FANTATSIC doing those performers songs which they did it so very well and also were very entertaining giving the audience an great time as well as showing the clips which were great too and I look forward to seeing them again soon.
