This is the memoir of Owen Elliot-Kugell daughter of American singer and member of the legendary American 60's The Mamas and the Papas Cass Elliot and in this book she talks about her mother's upbringing in Maryland, Washington and Virginia, doing acting which she did the Boyfriend and The Music Man, formed an folk group with Tim Rose and John Brown called the Triumvirate before becoming the Big Three, formed the Mugwumps with John Sebastian, Denny Doherty, Zal Yanvosky and Jim Hendricks, formed the Mamas and the Papas in 1965 who would achieve great success with hits including California Dreamin, Monday Monday, I Saw Her Again and many others, going to an solo career in 1968 with hits including Dream A Little Dream Of Me and Make Your Kind Of Music, her mother's passing in 1974, being raised by her aunty Leah, meeting her birth father, living in Massachusetts and California and many others. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it well worth an read and Owen Elliot-Kugell tells her mother's story with real honesty and tells it with respect. It is 50 years since the passing of Cass Elliot but the great music she made with the Mamas and the Papas as well as her solo work still lives on and will live on forever as it is great music. This is an must for the Mamas and the Papas fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
