4BK top 40 September 1966

This is from the Telegraph September 7th 1966 and this was the 4BK top 40 charts with BJ Thomas at number 1 with Mama, Matt Monro at number 2 with the title track from the movie of the same name that starred Virginia McKenna Born Free, Johnny Young at number 3 with the song written by Stevie Wright and George Young of the Easybeats Step Back which also at that time he was hosting the iconic music show The Go Show on Channel 0 (now 10) and The Ray Conniff Singers at number 4 with Somewhere My Love. The new entries in the charts that week were The Beatles at number 14 with Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby which was both from the Revolver album which came out at that time,Los Bravos at number 32 with Black Is Black, The Rolling Stones at number 33 with Mother's Little Helper which was from the Aftermath album, Brisbane group the Purple Hearts featuring Mick Hadley and Lobby Loyde at number 34 with Early In The Morning and The Troggs at number 37 with the song With A Girl Like You and the Australian acts in the charts that week were the Easybeats at number 12 with the Easy Fever EP, Normie Rowe at number 26 with his version of the Levon and the Hawks song The Stones That I Throw(levon and the Hawks would become the Band), Melbourne Disc Jockey Grantley Dee at number 27 with his version of the Bobby Bland song Let The Little Girl Dance and Brisbane boy Tony Worsley at number 36 with his version of the Buddy Holly song Raining In My Heart.
