This is from the Telegraph September 24th 1971 and this was the 4BC Top 40 charts with the group Drummond featuring future Mississippi and Little River Band member Graeham Goble at number 1 with their version of the Rays song Daddy Cool, Brisbane group New World at number 2 with the song written by Queenslander Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn Tom Tom Turnaround, The New Seekers at number 3 with Never Ending Song Of Love and John Kongos at number 4 with He's Gonna Step On You Again. The new entries in the charts that week were Sweet at number 33 with the song also written by Queenslander Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn Co Co, Bob Dylan at number 35 with Watchin The River Flow and Olivia Newton John at number 38 with the follow up to If Not For You The Banks Of The Ohio and besides from Drummond, New World and Olivia Newton John the other Australian acts in the charts that week were Blackfeather at number 5 with Seasons of Change, Daddy Cool twice with Come Back Again at number 7 and Eagle Rock at number 19, Sherbet at number 10 with their version of the Blue Mink song Can You Feel It Baby, Helen Reddy at number 12 with I Don't Know How To Love Him, Ted Mulry at number 15 with Marcia, Digby Richards at number 22 with A Little Piece of Peace, Russell Morris at number 25 with Sweet Sweet Love, Colleen Hewett at number 29 with her version of the Leon Russell song Superstar, Queenslander Kevin Johnson at number 30 with All our Favourite Songs and the Bee Gees at number 32 with How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.
