This is from the Courier Mail September 8th 1961 and this was the 4BK Top charts with the Joy Boys featuring 2 of Col Joye's brothers Kevin and Keith Jacobsen at number 1 with Smokey Mokes, the Highwaymen at number 2 with Michael, Johnny O'Keefe at number 3 with the song written by Alicia Evelyn originally recorded by Johnny Nash I'm Counting On You and Eddie Hidges at number 4 with I'm Gonna Kock On Your Door. The new entries in the charts that week were Elvis Prelsey at number 19 with Little Sister, The Four Preps at number 33 with More Money For You and Me, The Ventures at number 38 with Silver City, Timi Yuro at number 39 with Hurt and Ben E King at number 40 with Amor and besides from The Joy Boys and Johnny O'Keefe who besides from I'm Counting On You was also in the Top 40 that week with Right Now at number 31 the other Australian acts in the charts that week were The Dave Bridge Quartet at number 6 with Skip To My Lou which Dave Bridge was an member of the Joy Boys until 1961 when he left, Bryan Davies at number 14 with his version of the Mark Wynter song Dream Girl and the Sapphires at number 17 with Johnny Gunslinger. It was that week in 1961 when Roy Orbison played at the Festival Hall on the 6th with Ray Peterson, Dion Di Mucci, Jack Scott, Johnny Chester and the Melbourne instrumental group The Thunderbirds.
