Jokers and Queens Jon English and Marcia Hines

In July 1982 the album Jokers and Queens by Australian singers Jon English and Marica Hines was released which it went to number 36 in Australia and the title track from the album was released as a single went to number 62 on the Australian charts as well as the other 2 tracks were written as well as the title track were written by Jon English and Charlie Hull who also produced the album and the other 3 were covers including You've Lost That Lovin Feeling and also it is now out on CD. Besides the original tracks that was released on the album there is a bonus track called the Best Of Me. It is FANTASTIC with great songs which they sound great today as it did back then and it holds up very well this day which as I said great music endures. It's been 10 years since the passing of Jon English but the music he made as well as the work he did on TV lives on forever and he should be considered for a ARIA Hall Of Fame for the impact he made on Australian music. It's a must for Jon English fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...
