4BC Top 40 Charts August 1972
This is from the Telegraph August 25th 1972 and this was the 4BC top 40 charts with Donny Osmond at number 1 with his version of the Paul Anka song Puppy Love, Brisbane group New World at number 2 with the song written by fellow Queenslander Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn and produced by Mickie Most Sister Jane, Wayne Newton at number 3 with Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast and the Fifth Dimension at number 4 with the song written by Tony Macaulay(Last Night) I Didn't Get To Sleep. The new entries in the chart that week were The Partridge at number 34 with their version of the 1962 hit for Neil Sedaka Breaking Up Is Hard To Do and David Cassidy at number 36 with this version of the The Young Rascals 1967 hit How Can I Be Sure and besides from New World the other Australian acts in the charts that week were the boys from Redcliffe The Bee Gees at 16 with Run To Me/Road To Alaska, Slim Newton at number 17 with Redback On The Toilet Seat, Fielding and Dwyer at number 21 with the Whale, Sherbet at number 24 with the song written by Ted Mulry You're All Woman, Country Radio at number 30 with Gypsy Queen, Daryl Cotton at number 33 with Why Do Little Kids Have To Die, Rick Springfield at number 37 with Hookey Jo and Robin Jolley with the song written by Brian Cadd with Marshall's Portable Music Machine.
