This is from the Telegraph August 12th 1974(50 years ago today) and this was the 4BH Top 40 with Gordon Lightfoot at number 1 with Sundown, Abba at number 2 with Waterloo which they performed it at Eurovision, The Stylistics at number 3 with You Make Me Feel Brand New and the boys from Redcliffe The Bee Gees at number 4 with Mr Natural which was the title track from their 1974 album. The New entries in the chart that week were The Jackson 5 at number 32 with Don't Say Goodbye, John Denver at number 34 with Annie's Song and George McCrae at number 37 with Rock Your Baby and the Australian acts in the charts that were Cash Backman at number 5 with My Girl Bill, Judy Stone at number 11 with Would You Lay With Me In A Field Of Stone, Sherbet at number 12 with Slipstream, The Bootleg Family at number 17 with their version of the Betty Everett hit The Shoop Shoop Song, Digby Richards at number 18 with Spunky Monkey, Stevie Wright at number 22 with the song written by Harry Vanda and George Young Evie, Colleen Sewett at number 24 with I Believe When I Fall In Love, Linda George at number 26 with Mama's Little Girl, William Shakespeare at number 27 with the song written by Harry Vanda and George Young Can't Stop Myself From Loving You, Helen Reddy at number 28 with You and Me Against The World and Johnny Chester at number 29 with She's My Kind Of Woman.
