This is the memoir of legendary American singer-songwriter and keyboardist as well as member of 2 legendary American rock bands Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers and in this book he talks about his upbringing in St Louis, his parents' splitting up, getting his instrument an trumpet as well as then getting an guitar and learning piano and banjo, playing in bands the Mound City Three, Mike and the Majestics, The Shearstons, Blytham Ltd, Blue, The Delrays and the Guild, joining Stely Dan doing vocals and keyboards on tour as well as the studio on albums including Katy Lied, joining the Doobie Brothers in 1975 which he wa swith them for 7 years singing on the hits including What A Fool Believes, Takin It To The Streets, Minute by Minute and Little Darlin as well as albums including Livin on the Fault Line, Takin It To The Streets and Minute by Minute, his solo career, working with Jeff Porcaro, James Ingram, Don Was, Tina Turner, Cher and Patti LaBelle and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it well worth an read. This was co written with Paul Reiser known as an actor for the TV show Mad About You in the 90's and before that My Two Dads in the 80's and Michael is currently on the road with the Doobie Brothers in the USA along with Robert Cray and Steve Winwood as well as doing shows in Canada in September also with the Doobie Brothers which I Hope they come to Australia again. This is an must for fans of both Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers and I give it 4 and an half stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
