The Great Escape Richard Clapton

In February 1982 the album The Great Escape by Australian singer-songwriter Richard Clapton was released which went to number 8 in Australia and from the album had the 2 hit singles I Am An Island and Spellbound as well as an 3rd single The Best Years Of Our Lives. Among the other tracks on the album including an version of the Crickets song which was an hit for the Bobby Fuller Song in 1966 with I Fought The Law and it was produced by Mark Opitz who had worked with the Angels, AC/DC, cold Chisel and Swanee as it was Richard Clapton's recording with WEA and also among the musicians playing on the album including Harvey James from Sherbet, Gary Garry Beers and Andrew Farris from INXS and Graham "Buzz" Bidstrup from the Angels and Ganggajang. The album is out on CD now again and besides from the original tracks that was on the album there is 5 bonus tracks including Calling For You and Love Is Strong. It is FANTASTIC with FANTASTIC songs which has stood the test of time as you never get tired of hearing great songs and they are still appreciated after all these years. Richard Clapton played in Sydney last night and will be playing 3 shows in October including the Star on the Gold Coast in Queensland and this is an must for Richard Clapton fans which I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
