4BK top 10 January 1964
This is from the Telegraph January 15th 1964 and this was the 4BK top 10 with The Beatles at number 1 with I Want To Hold Your Hand, Brian Poole and the Tremeloes at number 2 with their version of the Contours song Do You Love Me, Kathy Kirby at number 3 with her version of the Doris Day song Secret Love, The Atlantics at number 4 with the Crusher, Jimmy Hannah at number 5 with his version of the City Surfers song Beach Ball written by Roger McGuinn (before forming the Byrds) and Frank Gari with the Bee Gees on backing vocals, Little Pattie at number 6 with the song written by Jay Justin and Joe Halford He's My Blonde Headed Stompie Wompie Real Gone Boy, Heinz from the Tornados at number 7 with Just Like Eddie which Richie Blackmore from Deep Purple playing guitar on it, Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs at number 8 with Sugar Shack, Lena Horne at number 9 with Now and Sheb Wooley who had been in Brisbane the month before at number 10 with Hootenanny Hoot and it was on this day in 1964 that the Beach Boys along with Roy Orbison, The Surfaris, Paul and Paula and the Joy Boys played at Festival Hall in Brisbane.
