This is from the Telegraph January 13th 1965(60 years ago) and this was the 4BK Top 10 charts with the Beatles at number 1 with I Feel Fine, Julie Rogers at number 2 with the Wedding, Johnny Rivers at number 3 with his version of the 1960 hit by Harold Dorman Mountain Of Love, Gene Pitney at number 4 with I'm Gonna Be Strong, Cliff Richard at number 5 with the song which was from the movie Wonderful Life which he wrote with Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch of the Shadows On The Beach, The Kinks at number 6 with All Day and All Of The Night, Matt Monro at number 7 with Walk Away, Sandie Shaw at number 8 with Always Something There To Remind Me, The Rolling Stones at number 9 with their version of the Howlin Wolf song Little Red Rooster which Brian Jones played slide guitar and The Shadows at number 10 with the song also from the movie Wonderful Life written by Bruce Welch Theme For Young Lovers.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...
