Dionne Warwick @ QPAC Concert Hall
On Tuesday night January 14th I went to QPAC concert Hall to see iconic American singer Dionne Warwick which was my first time. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to South Bank, went to the Plough Inn, rang Dad, had Beef Nachos for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, went to Food Court, ate Triple Tim Tam Sundae, saw Brad and Celia who I knew from church which I met their daughter Matilda and walk to QPAC. Put Bag in the Cloak Room, went inside and use mobile. The show started after 7pm with support act singer-songwriter Emily Hatton came on stage which she did an 20 minute set doing her versions of the Kenny Rogers song the Gambler and the Elvis Presley song Can't Help Falling In Love as well as her own songs and there was an interval which I had an Coke with No Sugar and went inside. then at about 8pm Dionne Warwick came on stage which for the hour and 10 minutes performed her classic hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's starting off with Walk On By, Anyone Who Had A Heart as well as I Say A Little Prayer, Alfie and many others sitting down on an chair wearing light blue getting the crowd to sing along to the songs as well as telling some stories about her career and also backed up by an great band with Renato Brasa on Percussion, Jeff Lewis on drums, Danny DeMorales on bass and Andrew "Chez" Lewis on keyboards as well as being the music director. The show finished after 9.10pm, got bag from Cloak Room, went to the bus stop, caught bus to Carindale which I rang Dad, he picked me up and came home. It was FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT which Dionne still sounds great at the age of 84 as well as very entertaining giving the audience an show performing songs that are fondly still remembered after all these years and still sounding great today as it did back then. Everyone had an great time which including myself and I am so glad that I got to see Dionne live as I didn't want to miss the chance to see an iconic American singer which it is something that I will never forget it as this is her final Australian tour. It is great to see it was packed which should remind people that artists who have been around for a long time no matter how old they are they still can play to packed crowds and people like Dionne are entertainers who know how to entertain the crowds.
