This is the new album by legendary Australian singer Swanee (John Swan) and this is mainly an duets album which he sings with his brothers Jimmy Barnes and Alan Barnes, his niece Mahalia Barnes, Dave Gleeson from the Screaming Jets and the Angels, Rick Springfield, Russell Morris, Ian Moss, Wendy Matthews and many others which Swanee sings the title track himself. It is an FANTASTIC album with great singing by Swanee who sounds great and he and the acts he sang with sounds great too and also the songs are FANTASTIC too. It was produced by Darren Mullan with some produced by Nick O'Donnell and Kevin Borich, Paul Cecchinelli and John Swan, Mark Lizotte(Diesel), Ben Rogers, Kevin Shirley and jack Jones and it went to number 37 on the Australian charts which it was Swanee's first 40 album since 1982 with This Time It's Different and his first charting album since 1985 with Bushido. the Journey Part 3 The Kinks

This is the 3rd and last compilation CD of the legendary British rock band the Kinks and which the songs on the album are on from 1977-84 period when they recorded for Arista as it had the hit singles including Sleepwalker, A Rock'N'Roll Fantasy, Better Things and Come Dancing as well as an live recording which it is on the second CD was at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1993 which they performed many of the classics including You Really Got Me, Sunny Afternoon, Dedicated Follower of Fashion and Apeman and also there is an booklet with Phil Alexander doing the liner notes as well as Kinks members Ray Davies, Dave Davies and Mick Avory commenting on the songs on the album. This is from the Telegraph August 29th 1957 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 50's which among their radio personalities was Allen Brandt who had worked at 4KQ and later on with 4IP which is now Radio TAB hosted the show The Coca Cola Bottlers Club which was on Monday to Friday from 4-4.15pm and on Saturday at 10am.

From October 2024 to February 2025 legendary Australian rock band Cold Chisel got back together to do an Australian and New Zealand tour to celebrate 50 years when they were formed which included Brisbane and Melbourne which they performed at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on November 23rd which it was recorded and filmed and it is out on CD and DVD which with the CD as it is an double set they performed many of the classic Chisel hits including My Baby, Forever Now, Khe Sahn, Choir Girl as well as album tracks including Standing On The Outside, Bow River, Breakfast at Sweethearts and Goodbye(Astrid Goodbye) and on the DVD which has the same songs on it and has interview with the members in between some of the songs and also on the extended interviews on the 2nd DVD with the members as well as the back up singers including Eliza Jane Barnes(Jimmy's daughter), Tex Perkins and Sarah McLeod. On Wednesday August 6th I was at home about to go for a shower when I heard on 4BH news that Australian rock and roll singer Col Joye passed away which I then told my Mum about it and I was sad about it even though I've been aware that he had health issues for some time. Col Joye was born Colin Fredrick Jacobsen April 13th 1936 to George and Minnie Jacobsen as he was one of 4 children with 2 brothers Kevin and Keith and sister Carol and left school at 14 to work an jewellery. Col played in an group called the KJ Quintet which had Kevin and Keith Jacobsen and they became Col Joye and the Joy Boys which they played at the Manly Jazzerama as well as playing at the dances around Bankstown and also were used to warm up the audiences at the screenings of the Tommy Steele Story. On Friday August 22nd I went to QPAC to see legendary Australian singer Russell Morris on his farewell tour which it was my 16th time seeing him live as my very first was nearly 25 years ago at Kedron Wavell on Thursday October 26th 2000 with Jim Keays and Darryl Cotton as Cotton Keays and Morris as it was one of Jim's first show with Darryl and Russell after Ronnie Burns left. I caught bus to South Brisbane from Carindale, went to the Plough Inn, rang Dad, had Steak, Chips and Salad for dinner, drank Pepsi max, went to the NZ Ice Cream Shop where I had a triple Tim Tam Sundae and walk to QPAC. This afternoon I went to the movies at the Events Cinema in the city where I saw Mr Burton. Yesterday afternoon I went to Kedron Wavell to see the legendary British rock group Herman's Hermits which it was my 15th time seeing them and it is 30 years when I first saw them at Festival Hall as part of the British 60's Concert. I caught the bus to Chermside from the city, walk to Kedron Wavell, went to the Kitchen, rang Dad, Had Crumbed Lamb Cutlets, chips and Coleslaw for lunch, drank Coke with No Sugar, ate Caramel Waffle, went up to the Blue Pacific Room and saw Michael who I have known from the gigs. The show started after 3pm with Herman's Hermits that has the current line up with original member and drummer Barry Whitwam, Jamie Thurston on bass guitar and vocals, John Summerton on guitar on vocals and Tony Young on keyboards, guitar and vocals coming on stage starting off with the song that launched the group on the music I'm Into Something Good which throughout the first set doing the hits as well as other rock songs including I Feel Fine and Listen to th...

This is the new album by legendary American rock band Styx and it was recorded at Blackbird, In The Pocket, Lone Buffalo Song Labs and The Shop which the songs on the album were written by members Tommy Shaw, Will Evankovich and Lawrence Gowan as well as Will Evankovich producing the album. It is an FANTASTIC album with FANTASTIC song with great playing and singing by the band which has 2 original members James Young and Chuck Panozzo, Tommy Shaw since 1975, Todd Sucherman since 1995, Lawrence Gowan since 1999, Will Evankovich since 2015 and Terry Gowan since last year and also doing shows in the US and Canada this month and September which I hope they come to Australia in the future. This is an must for Styx fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Ain't Done With The Blues by Buddy Guy

This is the new album by legendary American blues musician Buddy Guy and this was recorded at Blackbird Studio in Nashville Tennessee which most of the songs on the album were written by Tom Hambridge who produced the album with people like Richard Fleming(5) and 2 with Gary Nicholson as well as some covers including an John Lee Hooker song called Hooker Thing and an Earl King song Trick Bag as well as Joe Walsh from the Eagles performing with Buddy on How Blues Is That and Peter Frampton performing with Buddy on It Keeps Me Young. It is an FANTASTIC album with great playing and singing by Buddy Guy who is still sounding great at age 89 and the songs are FANTASTIC which it's well worth listening to. Buddy Guy has 5 shows coming up in the USA this month and among the other musicians playing on the album is Chuck Leavell who plays with the Rolling Stones and Tal Wilkenfeld who played with Jeff Beck. This is an must for blues music fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops...

This is from the Telegraph August 6th 1954 and now the classic hits station in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1950's which among their disc jockeys was Bob Rogers who had been with the station since 1950 which would last until 1957 and would achieve great success on Sydney radio did the show Platter Chatter which had Disc For Debonaires at 6.30pm, King Hits at 9pm and Sentimental Journey at 9.30pm.

This is from the Telegraph August 6th 1954 and long before being known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits Station as well as being an country station before that 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 50's which besides from music the station was doing variety at the time which among their shows was the Children's Show which was conducted by Allen Brandt who went on to work at 4IP which was broadcast at the Fire Brigade Headquarters on Ann Street at 9.30am on Wednesday August 7th with the Firemen in action.

This is from the Sunday Truth August 5th 1962 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1960's which among their disc jockeys was Gary Raynes who was on Sundays from 2pm until 5.30pm with the show Relax with Raynes playing the music that was out at the time.

Greazefest 2025

Today I went to Greazefest at the Cleveland Showgrounds which this was the 25th anniversary when it started and I've been going there every year since Sunday August 3rd 2008 except 2020 and 2021 due to covid which I was supposed to go to the Sunday show in 2021 when the snap lockdown happened but depsite those 2 times I love going there it is has an FANTASTIC and AWESOME atmosphere. Dad took me to the Bus Stop, bought Pepsi Max, drank it, caught Bus to Cleveland and walk to the showgrounds. Rang Dad, saw Jessica and watch Slim Gritty an rockabilly performer backed by an bass player and drummer came on after 11am which he mainly performed mainly original songs as well as cover of an Johnny Horton song which everyone was enjoying themselves and there was an break which I took photos of some of the cars. The Next Band I saw was Stone Age A Go Go who are from Brisbane which it was the first time I have seen them which they dressed in the Stone Age gear which they did an AWESOME set do...

4IP August 1970

This is from the Sunday Truth August 2nd 1970 and until 1992 when they became 4 TAB which it is now Radio TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's top radio stations at the time in the early 70's which among their disc Jockeys who were on Sundays were Peter Byrne who was on from 5am until 8am, Grant Goldman who hosted the very 1st Countdown when it started in 1974 was on from 8am until 1pm and from 1pm until 6pm Billy J Smith who would go to great success doing Sports TV shows in Brisbane as well as It's A Knockout and also there was an Simon and Garfunkel Special for an hour at 6pm.

Just 2 weeks ago I was at Chermside looking at my phone when I saw the news about the passing of Bobby Bright from the iconic Australian singing duo in the 60's and 70's Bobby and Laurie which was sad to see that as I was aware that he had health issues in the last few years.
