The Absence by Budgie
This is the memoir of British drummer and member of legendary British groups Big In Japan, The Slits and Siouxsie and the Banshees Budgie and in the book he talks about the passing of his mother, his upbringing in St Helens, sang in a choir, playing in Leather Dog Furry Dog playing 1 string guitar, getting his first drum at 12, playing in Chuck and the Young Ones, moving to Liverpool where he studied art, played in Spitfire Boys, Big In Japan and the Slits which he was on the album Cut, joining Siouxsie and the Banshees in 1979 which he would be with them until 1996 as well as playing on albums including Kaleidoscope, Juju, A KissIn The Dreamhouse and Tinderbox, forming the Creatures in the early 80's which they recorded 4 albums, his marriage to Siouxsie which last until 2007 after 16 years, encounters with the Clash, Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Marc Almond, David Bowie, John Cale and many others. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with amazing and Brilliant stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read. Budgie has done an book tour in the UK to promote it and this an must for British punk music fans which I give it 4 stars as it is in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
