4BC Top 30 charts August 1974

This is from the Telegraph August 23rd 1974 and this was the 4BC Top 30 charts with Abba at number 1 with the song that won them Eurovision Waterloo, the Rubettes at number 2 with Sugar Baby Love, The New Seekers at number 3 with I Get A Little Sentimental Over You and Stevie Wright with the song written and produced by his Easybeats bandmates Harry Vanda and George Young Evie. The new entries in the charts that week were Brisbane band Railroad Gin with Carol Lloyd at number 28 with the double sided Do Ya Love Me/Academy Rock, Dave Loggins at number 29 with Please Come Back To Boston and Paper Lace at number 30 with the song written and produced by Mitch Murray who wrote How Do You Do It and I Like It for Gerry and the pacemakers in the 60's and Peter Callander who wrote The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde for Georgie Fame and Beautiful for English group the Brothers The Night Chicago Died. Besides from Stevie Wright and Railroad Gin the other Australian acts on the charts that week were Jimmy Little at number 8 with Baby Blue which was shared with the George Baker Selection, Olivia Newton at number 11 with the song written by Valerie Avon and Harold Spiro Long Live Love, Helen Reddy at number 12 with You and Me Against The World, the boys from Redcliffe The Bee Gees at number 13 with the title track from their 1974 album Mr Natural which they came to Australia the next month that included Brisbane on September 19th, Judy Stone at number 14 with Would You Lay With Me, Sherbet at number 15 with Slipstream, Digby Richards at number 21 wih Do The Spunky Monkey which Jim Gordon played drums on it and the Bootleg Family at number 24 with their version of the Betty Everett 1964 hit The Shoop Shoop Song.
