Greazefest 2025

Today I went to Greazefest at the Cleveland Showgrounds which this was the 25th anniversary when it started and I've been going there every year since Sunday August 3rd 2008 except 2020 and 2021 due to covid which I was supposed to go to the Sunday show in 2021 when the snap lockdown happened but depsite those 2 times I love going there it is has an FANTASTIC and AWESOME atmosphere. Dad took me to the Bus Stop, bought Pepsi Max, drank it, caught Bus to Cleveland and walk to the showgrounds. Rang Dad, saw Jessica and watch Slim Gritty an rockabilly performer backed by an bass player and drummer came on after 11am which he mainly performed mainly original songs as well as cover of an Johnny Horton song which everyone was enjoying themselves and there was an break which I took photos of some of the cars. The Next Band I saw was Stone Age A Go Go who are from Brisbane which it was the first time I have seen them which they dressed in the Stone Age gear which they did an AWESOME set doing mainly original songs as well as some covers which at one point the drummer did an drum solo which was amazing as well. I had Nachos for lunch, drank Coke with No Sugar, saw my friends like Laura, Michael, Joey, Marty, Sabena amongst others, took photos of more cars, bought posters at the Greazefest stand and had photos with friends. Left after 2.30pm, went to the bus stop, caught bus to Carindale , went to Coles where I bought Sparkling water, Coke WIth No Sugar and Crackers, ate Crackers, rang Dad, he picked me up and came home. It was FANTASTIC and AWESOME with AWESOME music as well as FANTASTIC cars which everyone had a great time including myself and it was an great day which there was some concern about rain but thankfully there wasn't which it has been an great weekend overall to finish off the anniversary which it is great to see interest in rockabilly and Greazefest is still there and amazing to keep it interesting as well as the support for it after these years which it's important as it keeps getting better and appreciated after all these years as it's been to different places including Westend and Rocklea and also most importantly to the person who is an big part of it Lori Lee Cash who does an AWESOME job putting it together every year which she does it so well and keeps it interesting so we thank you Lori and we appreciate it very much. May Greazefest go on for many years.
