The Real Thing Symphonic Concert Russell Morris

In July 2023 legendary Australian singer-songwriter Russell Morris performed at the Hamer Hall in Melbourne backed up the 54 piece Southern Cross Symphony as well as the musicians including guitarist Peter Robinson and Craig Newman on bass as well as among the backing singers including John Creech who plays drums with Rusell Morris as well as being an member of the Mixtures and Bluestone and Jason Vollmer and he performed many of his hits from the 60's and 70's including Hush, The Real Thing, Rachel, Sweet Sweet Love, Wings of A Eagle as well as from the songs from the albums he did in the 2010's as well as the Moody Blues song Nights In White Satin as well as Russell telling stories about some of the songs. In 1993 legendary American country singer-songwriter Johnny Cash was recording an series of songs he wrote as demos at LSI Studios at an time where he wasn't recording for an label prior to meeting Rick Rubin and the songs had been written decades before including 2 in the 70's and instead he made the American Recordings with Rick Rubin which some of the songs were on the album so the tapes were shelved. After rediscovering the demos his son John Carter Cash along producer David R Ferguson stripped them back to just the vocals and guitar before new recorded parts were overdubbed by an new band that included Marty Stuart and David Roe. It is FANTASTIC with the songs are just FANTASTIC and Johnny Cash sounded great on those recordings which it is well worth listening too. This is the new album by legendary Australian rock band The Angels and it was recorded at Lighthill Sound in Melbourne, Mixmasters, House Of SAP, Studio Bleus, home studios of Sam and Rick Brewster, Various Hotel Rooms and Backstage tent. The songs on the album are original songs with 4 written by Rick Brewster, the title track written by Sam Brewster and Nick Norton, 2 written by Rick Brewster and Nick Norton amongst others and it was produced by the band themselves(4 of them). It is FANTASTIC and ROCKIN with FANTASTIC and ROCKIN songs with they sound FANTASTIC with great playing by the band and it is well worth listening to which it rocks. This is from the Telegraph June 29th 1973 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's top radio stations at that time in the 70's which they use to promote shows as one of them was the Color Radio Ball which had the 4IP Big Band and the 4IP Good Guys as it was held at the Cloudland Ballroom July 27th 1973 which the performer at that show was Jamie Redfern who was in Young Talent Time as well as having hit singles at that time including Venus and Rainbow On The River.

This is the autobiography of the 2 surviving members of the British girl rock band The Liverbirds Mary McGlory and Sylvia Saunders and in this book they talk about their upbringing in Liverpool, Mary playing in the Squaws, forming the Liverbirds, playing around the UK, going to Germany where they would achieve great success which they recorded 2 albums, playing at the Star Club, encounters with the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, The Kinks and Jimi Hendrix and many others It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with BRILLIANT and FANTASTIC stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth an read. The Liverbirds were one of the very first all female rock band which they should deserve more recognition for the impact they made and this an must for 60's music fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

The Radiators Queensland Shows 2024

In August and September 2024 legendary Australian rock band The Radiators are doing shows in Queensland which they are doing shows in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast and the band has 2 original founding members Geoff Turner and Brian Nichol as well as Mark Lucas on drums since 1989 and since 2021 Martin Cilia who played with iconic Australian groups The Atlantics and Mental As Anything on guitar. The band will perform their classic hits from the late 70's and 80's including Comin Home, No Tragedy and One Touch and if you want to go and see them please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM which you will be impressed and amazed as well as may it bring back memories for those grew up in the late 70's and 80's in the days of Pub rock and Countdown and those who were not born in the era but have an interest in it it will be an experience.

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema to see the movie The Garfield Movie. Garfield (Chris Pratt) who had been abandoned by his father Vic(Samuel L Jackson) in the alley meets Jon Arbuckle (Nicholas Hoult) at an restaruant lives with Jon and Jon's dog Odie(Harvey Guillen) and one night they both get kidnapped by 2 dogs Roland (Brett Goldstein) and Nolan (Bowen Yang) which they are taken to an abandoned mall which they are rescued by Vic who Garfield resents after being abandoned in the alley. This is the new album by American band Bon Jovi and it was recorded at Ocean View Studios in Nashville Tennessee and Multiview Studios Los Angeles California. The songs are written by Jon Bon Jovi which he wrote by himself, 1 with Ed Sheeran, some with singer-songwriter John Shanks and Billy Falcon, 1 with Ryan Tedder from the American group OneRepublic, Andrew DeRoberts and Nick Long from the band Dark Waves and amongst others. It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs as well as great singing and playing by the band which it was produced by Jon Bon Jovi, John Shanks and Joel Rubel and it is in the Australian charts at number 4 amnd number 3 in the UK. There is an 4 part documentary about the band is out on the Hulu Channel at the moment and this is an must for Bon Jovi fans which I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Today I went to Twin Towns to see legendary Australian singer Issi Dye and the Legends of Rock and Roll Show which had Glenn Douglas, Lisa Stewart, Peter Trianitis and Sharon Lee and I had only saw Issi and Glenn 5 days ago during Cooly Rocks On at the Greenmount Surf CLub. I caught the bus to Westfield and then to South Bank, caught train to Varsity Lakes, caught the bus to Coolangatta, rang Dad and walk to Twin Towns. Went to the showroom and write notes. The show started after 11.05am with Issi coming on stage with Glenn Douglas on guitar doing 2 songs and then doing the Everly brothers stuff, Lisa Stewart came on stage which she did 3 of the Dolly Parton classics, Peter Triantis who is an Elvis tribute performer from Melbourne sang an few Elvis songs which included Viva Las Vegas which Issi sang with him, Issi sang She's My Baby, Sharon Lee came on stage doing 3 of the Olivia Newton John classics and the Abba song Dancing Queen with her 15 year old daughter Siloh which th...

On Saturday night June 8th I went to the Elvis Precinct to see the Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute act Creedence Clearwater Survival who are from Victoria and it was my first time seeing them. I stopped at Montezuma's Coolangatta where I had Nachos for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, watch the car cruisers on the street, bought Chocolate Rianbow Royale from Baskin and Robbins, ate it, went to the Elvis Precinct, went inside, write notes and use mobile which Dad rang. The show started @ 7.30pm with the band coming on stage which they did 2 sets doing the Creedence classics as well as some of the John Fogerty solohits from the 70's and 80's as well as the band getting the crowds to sing along as well as doing the handclaps for certain songs and there was an plastic skeleton on the chair on the stage on the rocking chair with the banjo who is called Mike whch looked interesting and showing photos of the Creedence members and other things that they showed and there was an i...

On Saturday afternoon June 8th I went to the Elvis precinct to see the Beatles tribute act the Beatnix who have been around since 1980 and I first saw them 30 years ago when they played at the South Bank Piazza as it was then 30 Years when the Beatles toured Australia which Brisbane radio Station 4KQ use to do jukebox Saturday Night Live. The show started at 3pm which the group came on wearing the gear that the Beatles wore in 1965 and they performed the songs from 1963-65 including I Want To Hold Your Hand, A Hard Day's Night, She Loves You, I Feel Fine, Help and All My loving as well as showing clips of girls screaming from the Ed Sullivan Show as well as adverts of the Beatnix and there was an inteval which I drank Coke with No Sugar, went back inside and use mobile. On Saturday morning June 8th I went to the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage where I saw the Pick Me Ups who are an duo from Perth and it was my first time seeing them. the show started at 9.30am which for the next hour and 15 minutes they did an set which was an mixture of songs they wrote as well as covers of Jazz, blues and boogie numbers by Elvis, Otis Spann, Wynona Carr and many others which when they did 2 Elvis songs they asked the audience what movie that the songs came form which I got one of them right when they did the song Crawfish as it was from the King Cerole movie as I knew that one. The show ended at 10.45am and It was an impressive and Fantastic set which they sounded great and played great as they did the songs very well as well as everyone in the audience were having an great time which I enjoyed it too. Dwight Icenhower Elvis From Hollywood To New York City @ the Elvis Precinct

On Friday night June 7th I went to the Elvis Precinct to see the American Elvis tribute performer Dwight Icenhower which was my first time seeing the show. I went to the Earth n Sea in Coolangatta where I had Pizza and chips for dinner, drank Coke Coke with no Sugar, went to the ELvis Precinct, went inside, use mobile and write notes. The show started at 7.30pm with Dean Vegas doing the MC Dwight came on stage which in the first set he did the songs that Elvis did in the movies including King of The Whole Wide World, Rubberneckin as well as some of the title tracks including Love Me Tender and King Cerole and there was an interval where I had an Coke With No Sugar to drink, went inside and use mobile. The Rock'A'Dees at the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage

On Friday June 7th I went to the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage to see the Melbourne group the Rock'A"dees which it was the second time That I saw them as the first was at the Morningside Services Club Saturday December 28th 2013. They came on stage at 1pm and for the next hour and 15 minutes they performed mainly covers of rockabilly songs by Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Johnny Burnette, the Stray Cats, the Wild One by Johnny O'Keefe, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and many others and everyone in the crowd enjoying themselves and having an great time. The show finished at 2.15pm, I took photos, stopped at Maccas where I bought fries for Mum and Sundae for myself and went back to the Twin Towns Sebel. This is the from the Queensland Times June 9th 1967 and the Hoadley's Battle of the Bands was an big thing at the time when bands from every state would compete in the local ones which whatever band won would compete in the national competition in Melbourne to win an trip to England as it started from 1966 until 1972. 4IP was the sponsor of the Battle of the Bands for the Ipswich bands which was held at the Wintergarden Theatre June 15th 1967 at 7.30pm and the bands that performed there were X-ess, Flintlocks, Dwellers, Peaceful Yet, the Zodiacs, Back Porch Majority, The Tiz-Us, Hands Down, Contraband, Strangebrew and the Orbits.
