GANGgajang @ the Koala Tavern

Last Night I went to the Koala Tavern to see legendary Australian rock band GANGgajang which was the first time I have ever seen them live but it is the second time I have seen Graham "Buzz" Bidstrup live as the first time was when he played with the iconic rock band the Angels at the Mansfield Tavern on Friday November 21st 2008. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to Capalaba and walk to the Koala Tavern. Went to the bistro, rang Dad, had Chicken Parmy, Chips and Salad for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, ate Strawberry Cheesecake, went outside, use mobile, went inside, drank Coke with No Sugar and did writing. The show started at 8.45pm with GANGgajang that has original member Mark Callaghan, Graham "Buzz" Bidstrup and Geoffrey Stapleton and since 1985 Robbie James came on stage and performed for 1 hour and 15 minutes which they did their classic songs from the 80's and 90's including Sounds Of Then, Gimme Some Lovin, Initiation, Talk To me as well as the 2021 Circle Of Life as well as doing songs from the Riptides that Mark was in and the Angels with No Secrets as well as during one song that Mark walked through the audience and towards the end of the show an harmonica player came on stage to perform on one song and also in the audience was one of the members of the Riptides. The show finished at 10.01pm, went outside, Dad picked me up, stopped at BP Carindale but no one was there and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which GANGgajang played and sounded great as well as very entertaining and giving the audience an great show playing songs that brought back memories for those who grew up in the 80's and everyone had an great time including myself and I am glad that I got to see GANGgajang live which I look forward to seeing them live again in the future and also if you have not seen them live please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM which you will be impressed and amazed. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stuff and amazing information about the Go Show which just celebrated 60 years an month ago and Kommotion as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read.
