Marcia Hines @ Redland Performing Arts Centre

Yesterday afternoon I went to Redland Performing Arts Centre to legendary Australian singer Marcia Hines which was my 4th time seeing her live and last time was the Apia Good Times Shopw @ QPAC Concert Hall on Friday June 1st 2018. I caught the bus to Cleveland, walk to the Redland Performing Arts Centre, rang Dad, bought Ice Cream and Coke with No Sugar, ate Ice Cream, drank Coke with No Suagr, went inside, wrote notes and use mobile. The show started at 3pm with 2 guys from Sydney Suit and Tie which they performed an 30 minute set doing songs by Michael Jackson, Barry White, The Temptations and the Bee Gees which they were very good, there was an interval where I had an Coke with no sugar and went back inside. Then at 3.50pm Marcia Hines appeared from the side door walking through the audience starting with Ain't Nobody and from then performed many of her hits from the 70's and 80's as well as covers of other songs as well as telling stories about her career including coming to Australia to do the musical Hair as well as doing Jesus Christ Superstar as well as working on the road with people with John Paul Young, Ted Mulry, Daryl Braithwaite and AC/DC as well as even an Q & A segment which got people to ask questions which I asked about how important was Countdown for people like Marcia and another one of the audience asked about artists starting today and also an man named Tom Oliver who does the Wynnum Fringe came on stage to sing with Marica on one song. The show finished at 5.35pm with Marcia doing Disco Inferno which had 2 guys from Suit and Tie who backed her in the show as well as drummer and guitarist Steph along with Tom, went to the Fish on Fire restaruant where I had Cod, chips and Salad for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, caught bus to Carindale, Dad picked me and came home. It was FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as very entertaining with Marcia still singing great and sounding great at age 71 and giving the audience an great show as well as telling stories which was very impressive too and the 2 guys and Steph were the back up which they sounded and great too as well as doing the backing vocals which sounded so good. Marcia will be in Brisbane early 2025 for the Grease musical @ QPAC as well as Australian Idol and if you have not seen Macia Hines live please do yourselves an favour and SEE HER which you will be impressed and amazed as well as entertained. Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists.
