The Choirboys @ Redland Performing Arts Centre

Last night I went to the Redland Performing Arts Centre to see the iconic rock band The Choirboys which was my 4th time seeing them as I last saw them at the Brisbane Entertainment Center for the Countdown concert on Saturday September 16th 2006 and it was the first time I have a whole show of theirs as they have been on bills with other acts. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to Cleveland, went to the Coolangatta Sands Hotel, rang Dad, had steak, chips and salad for dinner, drank Coke with No Sugar, Ate Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake, paid for my meal and walk to the Redland Performing Arts Centre. Bought Pub Rock CD, went inside and write notes. The show started at 8.02pm with the Choirboys that original members Mark Gable and Ian Hulme, Brett Williams since 1987 and Paul Watson came on stage which they start off with AC/DC's Long Way To The Top and then tell stories about the history of the band as well as telling stories about the acts they have worked including Doc Neeson from the Angels, Rick Parfitt from Status Quo, Stevie Wright from the Easybeats which would the songs from those acts including Am I Ever Gonna See You Face Again which most of the chanted the famous words which I won't see those words as well as some of their own songs including Never Gonna Die and there was an interval where I had an Coke With No Sugar to drink and bought the CD 1965 and went back inside. The Choirboys came back on stage for the second set which Ian Hulme did the bass sounds for the Mental As Anything song The Nips Are Getting Bigger as well as Mark telling the stories about the acts they worked with including Steve Kilbey from the Church and Ian Moss as well as doing their clasic hits including Run To Paradise as well as working with Jim Manzie who was from legendary Australian rock group Ol'55 who also produced the Choirboys in the early days. The show finished at 10.21pm, people were going to the table to get merchaindise, the band come out which they got photos taken with the fans as well as signing stuff which I got my photos with taken with the band, Dad picked me up, stopped at the petrol station at Cleveland where I bought Coke with No Sugar and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which the band sounded great as well as playing great and also very entertainig giving the audience an great night to remember as well as taking us on the journey of their history as well as the people they worked with and also the Choirboys are still touring which they will be performing in NSW this month and next year so far will be performing in Victoria,NSW and Queensland including Redcliffe Entertainment Center on July 11th. If you have not seen the Choirboys live please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM which you will be impressed and amazed as well as entertained by an iconic Australian band as I'm sure it will bring back memories for those who grew up in the 80's as well as those who are discovering 80's music for the first time and I look forward to seeing the Choirboys again soon.
