4BC Top 40 charts June 1972
This is from the Telegraph June 23rd 1972 and this was the 4BC Top 40 charts with Badfinger at number 1 with the song produced by Todd Rundgren Baby Blue, Dr Hook Medicine Band at number 2 with Sylvia's Mother, Gallery at number 3 with Nice To be With You and G Wayne Thomas at number 4 with Open Up Your Heart which was from the Australian surf music movie Morning Of The Earth. the new entries in the charts that week were Brisbane group New World at number 36 with the song written by Mike Chapman an fellow Queenslander and Nicky Chinn Sister Jane, Sammy Davis Jr at number 37 with Candy Man and Jimmy Castor Bunch at number 38 with Troglodyte and besides from G Wayne Thomas the other Australian and New Zealand acts in the charts were Robn Jolley at number 9 with the song written by Brian Cadd Marshall's Portable Music Machine, La De Das at number 27 with Morning Good Morning and Brisbane group Shepherd at number 40 with Birmingham Station which was produced by Ron Saywell who was one of the disc jockeys at 4BC at the time. Among the shows in Brisbane and the Gold Coast that night were Allison MacCallum at the Lands Office in the City, Freddie Paris at the Homestead in Boondall and Hedy Benaud at the Burleigh Hotel Motel.
