Slim Dusty Family Show Tamworth 1996

In 1996 legendary Australian country singer Slim Dusty performed with his wife Joy McKean, children Anne and David Kirkpatrick and sister in law Heather McKean performed 2 special shows at the Tamworth Country Festival which was recorded by Andrew Rodd who was one of the road crew for Slim Dusty for 8 years and it is now on CD. Among the songs that were performed were an Patsy Cline Medley, an Johnny Cash song Orange Blossom Special and Slim's classic songs including Duncan, Pub With No Beer, When The Rain Tumbles Down In July, The Biggest Disappointment and many others. It is FANTASTIC with great songs and the sound quality is FANTASTIC and it holds up very well which it is well worth listening too hearing Australian country music legends. It's nearly 22 years on September 19th since Slim Dusty passed away, 2 years since Joy mcKean passed away and last year Heather McKean passed away but the great music they made lives on forever and this is an must for Slim Dusty fans as well as Australian country music fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
