Tristan James at Wynnum RSL Club

Last night I went to Wynnum RSL Club to see the Elvis tribute act Tristan James which it was my first time to see an actual show of his as well as the first in 2 years since I went to a show there where I saw an 80's tribute show.I caught the bus to Wynnum from Cannon Hill despite an issue with the boomgate as the bus was not far so it had to change direction, went to Wynnum RSL, rang Dad, had T-Bone Steak, ships and Salad for dinner, drank Coke with No Sugar, ate bread roll, went upstairs, bought an CD and did writing. The show started at 8pm with Tristan James wearing the white gear came on the stage which Elvis wore in the 70's came out which in the first set performed the Elvis classics from the 50's, 60's and 70's including That's Alright Mama, Love Me Tender, Wonder of You and Kentucky Rain as well as the Del Shannon hit Runaway and there was an interval which I bought an Coke With No Sugar, drank it and use mobile. In the second had the Aloha from Hawaii set which he performed the songs including CC Rider, Burning Love, Blue Suede Shoes, Wooden Heart and amongst which during the second set Tristan was handing out scarfs to the audience as they annouce the winners for the Hawaiian Theme as they wore Hawiian shirts and had Hawaiian stuff with them too. The show finished at 10pm, Tristan came to have with the fans including myself, saw Stan Lenz who was from the Brisbane 60's group the Five with his wife Sherran, Dad rang, got photos with Stan, Mum and Dad picked me up and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which Tristan sounded great as well as very entertaining giving an FANTASTIC performance as well as giving the audience an great time and they had a great time too which they did and also look forward to seeing Tristan live again in the future so if you have not seen him please do yourselves an favour and SEE HIM which you will be impressed and amazed. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

Memoirs of A Piano Man by John Charter

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
