4BK Top 10 June 1965
This is from the Telegraph June 30th 1965(60 Years ago today ) and this was the 4BK top 10 with The Seekers at number 1 with the song written by Tom Springfield A World Of Our Own which was originally called Downhearted Blues, Melbourne rock group the Henchmen at number 2 with their version of the Bobby Day song Rockin Robin, Ray Brown and the Whispers at number 3 with their version of the Brent Edwards song Pride, Dave Clark Five who played at Festival Hall in Brisbane on June 3rd 1965 at number 4 with their version of the Chuck Berry song Reelin and Rockin, PJ Proby at number 6 with his version of the 1960 hit for Donnie Brooks Mission Bell, The Byrds at number 6 with their version of the Bob Dylan song Mr Tambourine Man which Roger McGuinn was the only member of the Byrds playing guitar on it along with singing with Gene Clark and David Crosby on it, Them including Van Morrison at number 7 with Here Comes The Night, Hermans Hermits at number 8 with their version of the Tom Courtenay song from 1963 Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter, Unit FOur Plus To at number 9 with Concrete and Clay and Brandon Bowyer at number 10 with his version of the Chubby Checker hit The Hucklebuck which was originally done in 1949 by Paul Williams and the Hucklebuckers.
