Karate Kid Legends

On Thursday June 5th I went to the movies at Coolangatta to see the movie Karate Kid Legends. Mr Han(Jackie Chan) is teaching Kung Fu in Beijing which among his students is Li (Ben Wang) who is his great nephew and Li's mother (Ming-Na Wen) and he moves to New York as she has been offred an job in the hospital as an doctor which he promised his mother not to do martial arts as his brother was stabbed to death. Li gets friendly with an girl named Mia (Sadie stanley) who works in an Pizza Shop which it owned by her father Victor(Joshua Jackson) who was an boxer and Mia and Li go out together which they confronted by Mia's ex boyfriend Conor Day(Aramis Knight) who was an local karate champion which attacks Li and Li has an tutor named Alan (wyatt Oleff). Li confronts an gang who attacked Victor who decides to go back into boxing which Li trains him and Victor is in the boxing match but gets knocked out which he goes to hospital. Mr Han goes to New York to deal with Li who encourages him to go back to Martial Arts to enter the Five Boroughs Tournament that was coming up and Han goes to Los Angeles to ask Daniel LaRusso(Ralph Macchio) for help which he is hesitant as first but eventually comes to New York to Li and it gets interesting. It is Action Packed, Brilliant and Superb with FANTASTIC acting by Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie stanley, Aramis Knight, Ming-Na Wen, Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio and even an cameo by William Zabka who played Johnny Lawrence and it was directed by Jonathan Entwistle and produced by Karen Rosenfelt and also great to see the different eras of the Karate Kid combining together which it is great to see. I am giving this 4 and an half stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour an SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
