Elvis and the Legends show @ Coorparoo RSL and Community Centre

Last night I went to Coorparoo RSL and Community Centre to see the tribute show Elvis and the Legends Show that has Andy B which it was my second time seeing him as I only saw him back on Friday September 13th 2024 at Mt Gravatt Bowls Club which he did the Elvis tribute and Roy Orbsion tribute with Rick Hudson who also did Elvis and an Ricky Nelson tribute show and it was my second time seeing an show at Coorparoo which the last time was Saturday October 26th 2013 when I saw local rock and roll group On The Move. I caught the bus to Coorparoo from Carindale, walk to the club, went inside, met Judith, Charles, Jackie and Carol, had Lamb Shanks and veges for dinner, saw Graham and Faye(my friend Matthew's Uncle and Aunty) and drank Pepsi Max. The show started before 7.15pm which Andy's wife said an few words about being an trip to America recently as well as Andy having been sick and then Andy came out which in the 1st set he performed songs by Tom Jones, Frankie Valli, Cliff Richard, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison, Travelling Wilburys, Johnny Cash and John Denver as he performed 3 songs each of the some of the performers but 2 for other acts as well as some of the acts walking through the audiences shaking hands as well as handing out roses to some of the audience and also wearing the different clothes the acts wore including the glasses when doing Roy Orbison. There was an interval which I had an Pepsi Max and in the second set ANdy B came back out which he did the Elvis set wearing the gear Elvis wore in the 70's during the Vegas period doing the Elvis classics from the 50's, 60's and 70's as well as some rarities as the raffle for a Elvis thing which an lady named Carol won it and Andy walking through the audience shaking hands as well as handing out scarfs during one of the songs and also there was people dancing on the floor including myself for a couple songs. I left at 10.01pm as the show was about to finish, went outside, Dad picked me and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which Andy B despite recovering from his illness sounded great as well as very entertaining getting the crowds to sing along and having an great time as well as talking about his recent trip in America and also talked plans to add stuff for different shows in the future but always do an Elvis one and I look forward to seeing him again in the future which if you have not seen him please do yourselves an favour and SEE HIM which you will be impressed and amazed. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

Memoirs of A Piano Man by John Charter

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
