The Great Lillian Hall

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the movie The Great Lillian Hall. Lillian Hall(Jessica Lange) is an Broadway actress who has never missed an performance is preparing for an upcoming play but is having issues with her memory as well as confusion who has an assistant Edith(Kathy) and an daughter Margaret (Lily Rabe) and is diagnosed with Dementia but is determined to make it to opening night considering the challenges she is going through which gets interesting. It is Touching, Brilliant and Superb with Top and Brilliant acting by Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Jesse Williams who plays the director David and Pierce Brosnan who plays Tai Maynard. It is directed by Michael Cristofer and produced by Bruce Cohen, Steven Rogers, Scott Thigpen, Marie Halliday and George Scarles as well as among the executive producers were Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates and also this has to be one of Jessica Lange's finest performances she has ever given which I can put it among the great films she has done including Tootsie as to prove that no matter how old you are you can still do an great performance. I give this 4 and an half stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
