This is the new compilation by legendary Australian singing sister duo as well as member of the Australian rock group the Black Sorrows Vika and Linda and in this double CD it has their singles from the 90's and the 2000's including their singles We Started A Fire, Hard Love and House of Love as well as some live tracks and the Black Sorrows hit Never Let Me Go. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB  with FANTASTIC songs which has stood the test of time and still as fresh today as it did back then. It went to number 1 here in Australia last week which it's now gone to number 10  and  let's hope it stays on the top 10 for a while longer . They are still working  which they are not doing live work at the moment because of the COVID 19 and they have been doing a series of singing lessons streaming on Facebook. This CD is a must for Vika and Linda fans as well as Black Sorrows fans which I give it 5 stars and it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY I

For this week's classic movies segment let's have a look at the 1962 movie The Miracle Worker. Helen Keller(Patty Duke) who has been blind and deaf since infancy has never seen light, hearing her mother's voice or expressing feelings  but then an 20 year old teacher named Annie Sullivan (Anne Bancroft) coming from Boston who had regained her eyesight and helps Helen through touch which it's the only tool they have in common which leads Helen from fear and isolation to happiness and light and it gets interesting. It's an FANTASTIC movie with FANTASTIC acting by Patty Duke in her Best Supporting Actress Oscar winning role and Anne Bancroft in her Best Actress Oscar winning role along with the other acting performances by Inga Swenson who played the mother who go on to play the German housemaid Gretchen Krause in the American comedy Show Benson from 1979-86, Victor Jory and Andrew Price. For this week's classic albums segment for the second time let's have a look at the 1990 album by Bette Midler called Some People's Lives. It was recorded at Ocean Way Studios and 55 Studio Ultimo (Los Angeles) , Battery Studios, BMG studios, Electric Lady Studio and Green Street Recording New York  and it was released September 4th 1990 which went to number 6 in the USA, number 5 in the UK and number 7 in Australia which it went double platinum as it sold 2 million copies in the USA alone. It was produced by Arif Mardin who had worked with the Bee Gees in the 70's and he did the arranging with Robbie Buchanan and from the album it had the huge hit From A Distance  as well as other singles Night and Day, The Gift Of Love and Midnight Parking. It's an great and wonderful album with great and fantastic songs which has stood the test of time and still sounding great to this day as we still hear From A Distance on the radio  as  it's a message of Hope and Peace as w

For this week's classic albums let's have a look at the 1990 album Rise by Daryl Braithwaite.  It was recorded at the Metropolis Audio in Melbourne from July-October  1990 and it was released November 23rd 1990 which went to number 3 in Australia as it sold over 300,000 copies. From the album it had 5 singles- Rise number 23 Australia, the Horses number 1 Australia, Higher Than Hope number 28 Australia and number 47 USA, Don't Hold Back Your Love number 55 Australia and Nothing To Lose number 100 and the album went 4 times platinum. It was produced by Simon Hussey and Among the musicians who were who played on the album was Tommy Emmanuel who played electric guitar on 2 tracks and  John Farnham did back up vocals  on some tracks as well as Shirley Strachan did back up on 1 song and Margaret Urlich did the backing vocals on The Horses. It was recorded at Stax Recording Studios in Memphis  on April 9th and July 9th-10th 1965 and it was released September 15th 1965 which went to number 75 in the USA pop charts, number 1 in the USA R&B charts and number 6 in the UK  where it went silver there. It was recorded at San Quentin Prison February 24th 1969 and it was released June 4th 1969 which went to number 1 in the USA Country Charts and number 1 in the USA pop charts as it went triple platinum, Platinum in Canada and Gold in the UK. This is the memoir of Nicca Ray daughter of legendary Hollywood director Nicholas Ray and in this book she talks about her father's life, the movies he did,   her relationship with her father, her father's passing in 1979, her issues with drugs and alcohol and many others. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with Very Entertaining and FANTASTIC stories  and an great read as well as telling it with honesty. It's 41 years since Nicholas Ray passed away but his movies like Rebel Without A Cause, In A Lonely Place, Johnny Guitar live on forever and are still watched to this day. This is a must for movie fans which I give it 4 and an half stars and it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be amazed.

For the second time let's have another look at the classic album segment and tonight it's the Ringo Starr album from 1970 Beacoups Of Blues. This was Ringo's second album which was recorded in Nashville at Music City Recorders for 3 days from June 25th-27th 1970 and it was released September 25th 1970 which was not an hit in the UK but it went to number 65 in the USA, number 33 in Australia and number 34 in Canada. From the album the title track Beaucoups Of Blues written by Buzz Rabin went to number 87 in the USA, number 66 Australia, number 35 in Canada and number 43 in Germany and the other tracks from the album  were written by Ringo himself as he wrote 2 songs, 3 by Sorrells Pickard, 4 by Harland Howard and 1 by Bobby Pierce. It was engineered by Scotty Moore who played guitar with Elvis Presley in the 50's and 60's and among the musicians playing on the album were Charlie Daniels, Jerry Reid, DJ Fontana who too played drums with Elvis Presley in the 50;s and 6

For this week's classic album segment let's have an look at the Creedence Clearwater Revival album Pendulum. It was recorded at Wally Heider Studio San Francisco in November 1970 and it was released December 7th 1970 which went to number 5 in the USA,number 8 in the UK, number 1 in Australia and Norway, number 2 in Holland and Canada and number 3 in Italy by early 1971 and also went platinum in the USA and Gold in Finland. From the album had the hit singles Have You Ever Seen The Rain and hey Tonight  and besides from those 2 songs all the other songs were written by John Fogerty. It was the last album for rhythm guitarist and John's brother Tom who left the group  not long after that to start a solo career and it was the last album with John Fogerty songs and him as producer as the next and last album that was to be Mardi Gras in 1972 Doug and Stu contributed to the album along with John. It's an great album which still rocks after 50 years  as it will be this December

This is the memoir of American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys and in this book she talks about her upbringing in New York, started playing piano at age 6, her complex relationship with her father, began recording for J label which she would achieve hit singles including Fallin, You Don't Know My Name, No One, Un-Thinkable, performing with people like Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Prince and others. It's impressive and FANTASTIC with impressive, very entertaining and Brilliant stories told by Alicia and an enjoyable and great read as well. This is co written with Michelle Burford and Alicia is due to release an new called Alicia  but is delayed due to the corona virus situation as well as going on a world tour that is postponed. This an must for Alicia Keys fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be amazed.
