Surviving Cissy by Kathy Garver

 This is the paperback edition of the autobiography of actress Kathy Garver and in this book she talks her upbringing in California,  start in the 50's working with people like Robert Mitchum, Charlton Heston, Cecil DeMille, Patty McCormack, doing Family Affair which she played Cissy, her co stars in the show , life after Family Affair, living in London where she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and many others. It's an FANTASTIC, Brilliant and Superb  book with very entertaining, sad and an enjoyable read about surviving in the entertainment business. It is 50 years when Family Affair finished as well as 55 years when it started  and it still fondly remembered as it is on DVD as well as still watched on Syndication. This is an must for classic TV fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be amazed and impressed. 

Cruella

 Last night I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie Cruella. Estella (Emma Stone) is an oprhan after witnessing her mother Catherine (Emily Beecham)  being pushed to death over a cliff and fled to London where she s befriended 2 street Urchins Jasper (Joel Fry)  and Horace (Paul Walter Hauser) where they have been stealing and hustling as well as Estrella  honing her fashion skills by crafting elaborate disguises. She gets an real job at the Liberty department store as an cleaner and  when she is refused an promotion while in a drunken   state she remakes one of the window displays which leads to work with Baroness Von Hellmann(Emma Thompson)  and  gains confidence but when she sees her boss wearing the necklace that once belonged to her mother  which the Baroness claims it was stolen Estrella asks Horace and Jasper to get the necklace and starts calling herself Cruella as well dyeing her back to half black half white and then it gets interesting. It's FANTASTIC, Very Funny

The Devil In Me Suzi Quatro

 This is the new album by legendary singer-songwriter and musician Suzi Quatro and this was recorded at Studio 84 Rooks Yard and Rak Studios. She collaborates with her son Richard Tuckey  as they wrote all the songs and they produced it too. Among the songs on the album included Betty Who? which Cherie Currie from the Runaways doing the backing vocals, the title track The Devil In Me and I Sold My Soul Today. It's AWESOME, ROCKIN, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AWESOME and FANTASTIC songs  with great singing by Suzi and is sounding great better than ever. Richard also plays guitar on the album too. The album went to number 28 in Germany and number 24 in Switzerland. This is an must for Suzi Quatro and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed. 

Don't Stop by Status Quo

 It's 25 years ago when legendary British rock band Status Quo released the album Don't Stop the 30th Anniversary Album which it went to number 2 in the UK in 1996 and from that album it had 4 hit singles the title track which was the cover of the Fleetwood Mac 1977 hit from the Rumours album, When You Walk In The Room which was a cover of the Jackie DeShannon song which was an hit for the Searchers in 1964, All Around My Heart which they did it with Maddy Prior from the group Steeleye Span  and Fun Fun Fun with the Beach Boys which went to number 24 in the UK and the rest of tracks were also covers including Raining in My Heart the Buddy Holly song with Brian May of Queen, Get Back the Beatles song, You Never Can Tell the Chuck Berry and many others and this album has been re-issued again on CD. On this reissued edition besides from the  original tracks from 1996 it has 4 extra tracks and  rock writer Dave Ling does the liner notes. It is FANTASTIC, ROCKIN , BRILLIANT and SUPE

Latest Record Project Volume 1 by Van Morrison

 This is the new album by legendary Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison  which it's an double CD and it was recorded at World Studios Bath, Bath Spa Hotel in Bath, Subterania in London, Musicbox Studios in Cardiff and Culloden Hotel Belfast. This album has all original songs written by Van himself including he wrote with Don Black  as well as an traditional song with new words added by Van and on the song Big Lie he duets with Chris Farlow legendary British singer known for his 1966 hit Out Of Time and on the sing He's Not the Kingpin  he sings with PJ Proby  known for hits like Hold Me, Mission bell and Somewhere. It's an FANTASTIC album with great singing by Van who is singing better than ever  and the songs are great  too. Van produced the album himself and  it has gone to number 5 in the UK and number 41 in Australia so far this week  so let's it goes to top 40 in Australia by next week. I give this 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour an

June Again

 Last night I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie June Again. June Wilton (Noni Hazelhurst) who has dementia and has experience remembering things again leaves the nursing home to see her children  daughter Ginny (Claudia Karvan) and son Devon (Stephen Curry) which they are amazed and   she learns that things have not been going well for children who are having personal issues. It's up to June to get her family back on track and then she goes on an romantic journey of her own which gets interesting. It's sad, FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with Top and FANTASTIC acting by Noni Hazelhurst, Claudia Karvan and Stephen Curry as well as Nash Edgerton  and Pip Edwards and it one of Noni's finest acting performances she has ever given.  It's directed by JJ Winlove who also did the screenplay and this is one of the best Australian films so far this year  which has an real good message about family. I give it 4 and an half stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves

The United States Vs Billie Holiday

 Yesterday I went to the Dendy Cinema to see the movie The United States vs Billie Holiday  and American jazz singer Billie Holiday (Andra Day)  is getting targeted by the FBI due to her singing Strange Fruit  which it's about lynching   and  they try to stop her singing the song which she refuses. Then agent Harry J Anslinger (Garret Hedlund) along with the other agents then plan to arrest her for drugs as they considered her an threat  and  then she does an concert with Louis Armstrong  which afterwards  soldier Jimmy Fletcher (Trevante Rhodes ) sees Billie  which he see doing drugs and also then  she is arrested with Joe (Melvin Gregg)  for drugs which she is sentenced to a year's jail. Jimmy turned out to be an agent  not an soldier  and Billie gets released after a year which starts performing at Carnegie Hall in New York to a sellout crowd  and has to sing in clubs as she is not able to get her cabaret card   which  she is getting into the drugs again  and Jimmie is havin

 This is the solo compilation CD by singer-songwriter and founding member of legendary 70's band America Gerry Beckley and it has songs that he has recorded from 1995-2019 including  Watching  The Time that he did with Robert Lamm of Chicago and the Carl Wilson of The Beach  Boys  and Goodbye Highway and some never released including 2 from 1988 and Norman from 2002. It's an FANTASTIC compilation with beautiful and FANTASTIC songs which they sound so good and even though I know Gerry's work with America  it is  well worth listening to and it is very impressive. America will be back on the road in August  as they have not performed since Covid and Gerry  is based here in Australia and California as he is married to an Australian lady which I did not know that. This is an must for fans of America and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
