4BH January 1966

This is from the Sunday Truth January 30th 1966 and 4BH which is now the classic hits station here in Brisbane but back in the 60's was one of Brisbane's very popular radio stations which among their disc jockeys was Bill Gates who was the one who gave the Bee Gees their name as well as doing the doing record hops around Brisbane including the O'Connor Boathouse which was on North Quay, John Daley, Ben Beckinsale, Mal Lamont and Grahame Cherry who later worked at 4KQ in the 70's.

This is from the Telegraph January 27th 1965 and in those days radio stations use to broadcast concerts @ the venues the acts performed on the tours which 4BH on January 27th 1965 broadcast the Rolling Stones concert at the City Hall with Roy Orbison, The Newbeats and Ray Columbus and the Invaders and the next night January 28th broadcast the Kinks concert at the Festival Hall with Manfred Mann and the Honeycombs which would be amazing to know if those broadcasts exist in the archives as it would be interesting to listen to.

This is the new compilation album by legendary American country siner Willie Nelson and on this CD it has the classics including On The Road Again, Always On My MInd, Blue Eyes crying In the Rain, Georgia On My Mind, To All The Girls I Loved Before with Julio Iglesias, Crazy, Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys, Ride Me Back Home and many others. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with FANTASTIC songs which holds up very well to this day and the songs still sounds great today as it did back then which these are songs that you can never get tired of. This is from the West Moreton Mirror January 26th 1966 and 4BC which it is now the talkback station was one of the top Brisbane radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Johnny James who would be with 4BC for 17 years which prior to that had been with 4BH for 6 years as well as working on Channel 9 including the Hi Fi Club an music show from 1959-60 and after finishing radio worked in real estate and hotels.

This is from the Telegraph January 24th 1964(60 Years ago today) and 4BK until 1990 was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations which among their disc jockeys at that were Bill O'Brien who had worked on 4KQ before that and Ron Burton. This advert featured Bill O'Brien doing Sunday JukeBox each Sundays at that time and Ron Burton on Modays from 7.15pm until doing the Top 40 Party Time as the Top 40 was the big thing at that time in the 60's.

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Coorparoo to see the movie Priscilla. Slowhand Sultans @ Cleveland Sands Hotel

On Friday January 19th I went to the Cleveland Sands Hotel to see the local tribute show to both Eric clapton and Dire Straits called Slowhand Sultans which includes legendary Australian musician Tim Gaze who is based here in Brisbane and has played in Australian bands including Tamam Shud, Ariel, Kahvas Jute and Rose Tattoo which it was my 4th time seeing him live. I caught the bus from Carindale to Cleveland, went to the Sands Hotel, went to the bistro, rang Dad, ordered my meal and had an look at my mobile. Had perri Perri Chicken, rice and corn for dinner, drank Coke with No Sugar, ate chocolate brownie, paid my meal, use my mobile, waited and went inside, did writing , drank Coke with No Sugar and had an look at my autograph Book. This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the movies The Boys In the Boat which it's based on an true story. It's Seattle 1936 in the height of the Great Depression Joe Rantz(Callum Turner) who is studying engineering at University of Washington joins up a rowing team led by Al Ulbrickson (Joel Edgerton) which is one of the 8 people to join the eights and are training for the Regatta competitiosn as well as for the Berlin Olympic Games, reconnects with friend Joyce(Hadley Robinson), encounters with his estranged father (Alec Newman) and it gets interesting. Herman's Hermits Australian Tour 2024

In March 2024 legendary British rock group Hermans Hermits are touring Australia which will be their first in 5 years since Auugst 2019 as it's 60 years this year when they first came on the music scene with I'm Into Something Good and are still going strong to this day. The line up that are touring are original member and drummer Barry Whitwam, Jamie Thurston on guitar, Tony Hancox on keyboards and John Summerton and will be playing in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. Dr Love and the Love Band @ Carina Leagues Club

On New Years Eve I went to Carina Leagues Club to see Dr Love and the Love Band who are an group from the Gold Coast and It was my first time seeing them. Dad took me to Carina Leagues CLub, went to the restaurant, had an look at menu, use mobile, ordered my meal, bought Coke with No Sugar and read book which it was Barbra Streisand. I had Wagyu Rump, Chips and Salad for dinner, Drank Coke With No Sugar, use mobile, read book and ate Sundae. The show started at 8.30pm with Dr and the Love Band coming on stage which they performed songs by Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Boz Scaggs, Barry White and many others and everyone was enjoying themselves and having an great time. This afternoon I went to the movies at Dendy Coorparoo where I saw Next Goal Wins. The American Samoa Soccer Team are not winning games as well as scoring goals and are in need for an new coach that can help and Thomas Rogen(Michael Fassbender) whose is facing being fired when he is offered the job to coach the America Samoa Soccer Team which he goes to American Samoa to try to change the team's fortunes and he trains them as well as getting use to the cultre which among the players in the team are Jaiyah Saeula(Kaimana), Smiley (Ioane Goodhue) and Nicky Salapu(Uli Latukefu) and it gets interesting.
