4BH and 4BC March 1966

These are from the Courier Mail and Telegraph March 3rd and 4th 1966 which the first one is from the Courier Mail March 3rd 1966 with 4BC's popular Disc Jockeys Geoff Atkinson, Tony McArthur and Graeme Smith(Bob) who were very popular at that time with Geoff hosting the music TV show Teen Beat on QTQ 9 from 1962-64 as well as being at the dances like TC's and Teen City and Tony McArthur who later worked on Radio Luxembourg as an program director. The other post is from the Telegraph March 3rd 1966 that mentions Johnny James who was hosting Breakfast Top 40 at that time and in the 50's and 60's was one of the Top Brisbane Disc Jockeys as well as hosting the QTQ music Show The Hi Fi Club from 1959-60 as well as appearing at the dances and the clubs. 3rd and last post is from from the Telegraph March 4th 1966 promoting 4BH with pictures of Bill Gates, Graham Cherry and John Daley and Bill Gates who gave the Bee Gees their name as well as appearing at the record hop

4IP February 29th 1968

This is from the Queensland Times in Ipswich February 29th 1968 and 4IP was one of the top radio stations in Brisbane at that time along with 4BH and 4BC which this advert from 1968 had Ron Saywell (error Staywell) doing 4pm-7pm Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm on Sundays doing the music. Ron also worked at 4BC,4BK, 2UE, 4GG and NQTV and passed on july 6th last year.

Somebody Touched Me by Shakin Stevens

In 1977 Welsh singer-songwriter Shakin Stevens who had been recording since 1970 had an single out with an version of the Ruth Brown song Somebody Touched Me and it went to number 38 in Australia but I have no idea how it did in the Australian cities which it was his first hit anywhere in the world and it was not until 1980 that he would achieve his first British hit with Hot Dog an cover of the Buck Owens hit.

In 1969 American rock and roll legend Gene Vincent who had successful hit singles in the 1950's including Be Bop A Lula, Lotta Lovin and Dance To The Bop as well as hits in the UK including Wild Cat and She She Little Shelia had an single out on the Forever (Hollywood)label called Story of Rockers which actually had released it the year before on the Playground label and it was actually an hit in Hobart which went to number 53 in 1969.

This is the memior of actress Pamela Anderson and in this book she talks about her upbringing in Canada, being an cover girl on Playboy, doing an cameo on Home Improvement and Married With Children, doing Baywatch which she played CJ Parker for 5 years from 1992-97, doing movies including Snapdragon and Barb Wire, her marriages including to Tommy Lee with who she has 2 sons, her love of art and literature and many others. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as impressive and very entertaining stories which it well worth an read. Pamela is in the documentary about herself called Pamela A Love Story. This is an must for Pamela Anderson fans and I am giving it 4 stars and it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is the memior of actor Ralph macchio and in this book he talks about the behind the scenes of the Karate Kid movie in 1984 including the audition for the role of Daniel LaRusso, working with Pat Morita, Elizabeth Shue and William Zabka, birth of some of the film's iconic scenes, the impact it has made on the pop culture and cinema as well as his own life, reprising his role on Cobra Kai and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth an read. It will be 40 years next year in 2024 when the Karate Kid came out and it still has an impact after all these years. Cobra Kai is having an 6th season as well as being it's final season. This is an must for Karate Kid fans and I give it 4 and an half stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Geraldine Fitzgerald(Brisbane Singer)

Just 2 weeks ago on February 9th Brisbane music and entertainment lost another legendary name with the passing of Geraldine Fitzgerald after an short battle with lung cancer. She was on December 18th 1941 in Townsville and Moved to Brisbane when she was 8.Her first experience as an singer was on 4BK Children's Hit Parade with Warren Cox who was to become an well known Brisbane singer was the junior compere which was hosted by Howard Brown. She came third in the Amateur Hour heat in Sydney at age 14 and worked as an secretary at 4BK for Malcolm Searle in the programme department. She appeared on local TV shows including BTQ 7 variety show House Party and the Late Show hosted by Brian Tait, Top of The Town and doing appearances on Bandstand hosted by Brian Henderson throughout the 60's and 70's which some of her performances are on DVD as well as other shows like IMT (In Melbourne Tonight)and the Mike Walsh Show and The True Blue Show. Gabe Phoenix @ The Newnham Hotel

Last Saturday Night I went to the Newnham Hotel to Elvis tribute performer Gabe Phoenix which it was my first time in 10 years since December 2012 at Kedron Wavell and was last at the Newnham Hotel for a show since Saturday October 2nd 2021 when I saw Mike Winkworth. I caught the bus to Mt Gravatt, walk to the Newnham Hotel, went to a room, saw Heidi, met Jackie, went to Table 2 , rang home, met Warren, Christopher, Chrissie, drank Coke with No Sugar, met Douggie, bob and Diane, had Steak, chips and salad for dinner and Saw Jill and Stuart from church as well as work as I worked with Jill @ SAWMH. The show started at 7.10pm with Gabe coming out wearing the white gear which Elvis wore in the Vegas year of the late 60's and 70's and performed many of the Elvis Classics of the 50's, 60's and 70's as well as walking through the audience, shakin hands as well as the ladies kissing him and giving hulas out to some of the audience and then there was an interval which

This afternooon I went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie Spoiler Alert. Michael Asuella (Jim Parsons) who works for TV guide and goes with an work friend to an gay night club where he meets Kit(Michael Aldridge) an photographer and they start to connect but michael has insecurities of being formerly overweight as well as Kit having an affair with an man at the gym which they have concerns about being in an relationship but overcame that and then Michael meets Kit's parents Bob(Bill Irwin) and Marilyn (sally Field) which then gets interesting. It is excellent, sad, touching and very entertaining with FANTASTIC acting by Michael Asuella, Michael Aldridge, Bill Irwin and Sally Field. It was directed by Michael Showalter and produced by Jim Parsons, Todd Spiewak, Alison Mo Massey, Michael Showalter and Jordana Mellick. It is an real human story which has laughter, sad and emotion as well as an journey for these 2 people and it well worth watching. I give it 4 stars as it

Olivia's Greatest Hits Vol 2 by Olivia Newton John

In September 1982 Olivia Newton John released the greatest hits album Olivia's Greatest Hits Vol 2 was released which it went to number 1 in Ausralia, number 8 in the UK and number 16 in the USA and on it it has the songs that were hits between 1978-82 including songs from Grease Hopelessly Devoted to You and You're The One That I Want, hits from Xanadu including the title track and Magic, Make A Move On Me, A Little More Love, Physical and many others and it is now on CD again. There is no extra tracks this time but it has an great booklet with Olivia doing her liner notes and Pete Paphides who is an well known British music journalist and broadcaster does the liner notes as well. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AWESOME songs which has stood the test of time and still sounds great today as it did back then as you can never get tired of hearing great songs from an great era. It's been 6 months since Olivia Newton John Passed away but her legacy still lives
