No Time To Die

On Wednesday I went to the Events Cinema in the city to see the movie No Time To Die. James Bond(Daniel Craig) who has left active service is living life in Jamaica after leaving Italy and his relationship with Madeline Swann(Lea Seydoux) whose mother had being killed by Lyutsifer Safin(Rami Malek) broke up and is contacted by Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) from the CIA about the kidnapping of MI6 scientist Valdo Obruchev (David Denick) which he initally declines but eventually does it and goes to Cuba which he attends the birthday of Ernst Stvaro Blofield (Christoph Waltz) who is in jail and orders his men to kill Bond instead kills the Spectre members instead on the order of Safin as Obruchev had reprogramed the nanobots to infect them. Bond eventually tracks down Madeline to Norway where he learns that she has a daughter Mathilde which she tells him about how Safin's family being killed by her father and then goes after Safin which gets interesting. Just 2 weeks ago on Thursday december 16th while I was at work having an break I had an look at Facebook on my mobile and I saw the news that legendary Australian singer/musician/Songwriter/record producer Rob EG aka Robie Porter had passed away after an battle of dementia and I was shocked to hear to see that. Robie Porter began recording for Rex with Your Cheatin Heart in 1959 and then in 1960 released 2 singles for Pye records Do You love Me/Whiplash and My First Love/Railroadin. From 1962-64 had successful singles with Festival both instrumentals including Si Senor, Jezebel, 5-4-3-2-1-Zero, 55 Days At Peking and When You're Not Near (Vocal) and albums including Playing Hawaiian Guitar and the Voice and The Guitar The Vocal and Instrumental Hits of Rob EG. Just a few weeks ago I saw on the Internet that Monkees member Mike Nesmith passed away which I was shocked to hear it as he has just done a tour with Micky Dolenz around the USA and it's a great loss to the music industry and to his family. I go to the state lirbary every Friday to do research on music which I put newspaper clippings in my USB to post on the facebook group page that I put together about the Brisbane rock n roll scene of the 50's and 60's and just recently only a month ago when I was at the state lirbary I was looking through the October 1956 of the Telegraph (October 1st-15th) I discovered on the October 13th advert that there was an rock and roll dance was happening in Brisbane at the St Francis' Hall on Elizabeth Street on Monday October 15th which had the Rockettes(Band) as well as winning tickets for the Stan Freberg show, Rock and Roll and Jive, Rock and Roll Disc and Free Prizes and that was amazing to see that. On Friday I was at the state lirbary doing my research as I wanted to look through the Courier Mail October 16th 1956 and I found a photo on the front page of a couple dancing at the dance at St Francis hall which was great to see too. Just last weekend I saw on Facebook on my I pad that Smokie member and last original founding member of the legendary British group Terry Uttley passed away which was a shock to hear about it considering he lost his wife recently and he was stil playing in the band as the other original members Pete Spencer, Chris Norman and Alan Silson are still around but have not played in Smokie for many years. The band was formed in 1964 as the Yens and the Sphynx and Essence with Terry, Alan and Chris but Terry left in 1966 but returned in 1968 which the band was then called the Elizabethans and remained in the band for the rest of his life. they recorded as Kindness for RCA which they released an single Light of Love/Lindy Lou in 1970 but nothing happened and then recorded for Decca which they released 3 singles but nothing happened chart wide and in 1973 Pete Spencer joined the band replacing Ron Kelly which would become the classic line up that would last until 1986 and also changed th

On Monday went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie Boss Baby 2 which it's the sequel to the Boss Baby movie 4 years ago. The Templeton Brothers Ted(Alec Baldwin) and Tim (James Marsden) have grown up and drifted away but then thanks to Tim's daughter Tina (Amy Sedaris) who has become the Boss Baby gets the brothers together and orders them on a mission to go to Tabitha's(Ariana Greenblat) school to stop the principal Dr Erwin Armstrong(Jeff Goldblum) plotting to remove the grown ups which they go to the school which Tim and Ted had taken an formula taking them back to being 7 years old and the baby to stop Armstrong and then it gtes interesting. On Sunday I went to the Carindale Events Cinema with my friend Billy and seeing Spider-Man No Way Home. Spider Man/Peter Parker(Tom Holland) who has been framed for the murder of Quentin Beck and his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya), best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and his Aunty May(Marisa Tomei ) are being questioned by the Department of Damage Control. Motown With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra A Symphony Of Soul

This is the new compilation of Motown songs from the 60's and 70's combining with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and this was done at the British Grove Studios. The CD has tracks from the Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas and there is 2 tracks with Abraham Martin and John by Marvin Gaye and Beverley Knight and What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted by Jimmy Ruffin and Micah Paris. It is an FANTASTIC and Brilliant CD with great songs blended with the Philharmonic Orchestra which works so well and it is just great to hear that. The albeum has gone to number 21 in the UK and it was produced by Brian Rawling an Grammy Winning producer and Paul Meehan.
