Monte Carlo

On Sunday September 25th i went to the garden City cinema to see the movie Monte Carlo. Grace bennett (Selena Gomez)who has just graduated from high school and along with her best friend Emma Perkins (Katie Cassidy) and step sister Meg (leighton Messer) they go to Paris which goes horrible as they have been ripped off for a suite and so little time to visit many places as well as getting left behind by their guide at the Eiffel Tower. Meanwhile British heiress Domenic Winthrop Scott also played by Selena Gomez is complaining about an charity event she had to attend in Monte Carlo and mistakenly for Domenic Grace and her friends fly to Monte Carlo where they would have fun and it's gets interesting through out the film. it's pretty good and pretty funny film which for some reason it does'nt appeal to me but I'm sure it will for others. pretty good acting by Selena Gomez, Leighton Messer, Katie Cassidy (daughter of singer/actor David Cassidy, Andie MacDowell who plays

The Beetles/Classic Creedence show

On Saturday September 24th I went to East Leagues Club to see an Beatles and Creedence tribute show which prior to the show I had dinner with Mum and saw lyndon (Walter's Brother). The show started @ 8pm with the Beetles doing most of the famous stuff from the 60's as well as wearing the suits and ties on stage during the set which everyone including myself was having an great time and they were on stage for an hour and 40 minutes which they finished @ 9.40pm. There was an interval which i bought an glass of coke and then the Creedence tribute band came on stage at 10.10pm which they did the famous Hits by Creedence and everyone was enjoying themselves dancing on the floor. I left @ 10.45pm as I was getting picked up by Dad and the show was still going when I left. It was an FANTASTIC night and I had an great time. the detonators show @ Holland park bowls CLub

On Friday September 23rd i went to holland ParK bowls CLub to see the rockabilly group Melbourne called the Detonators which it was the second time this year I have seen them as the first was @ the Morningside Services Club On saturday January 22nd for the Twilight Relaunch and also it was the first time since the Rockabilly Christmas Party on Friday December 17th last year when they had an rockabilly show there. the support act was Dan and the Dualtones which they started the night which they were FANTASTIC and played great which everyone was enjoying themselves and dancing. there was an interval and the Detonators came on which they did 2 sets and they were just FANTASTIC which they played FANTASTIC and the singer James sang great and played brilliant harmonica as well as the guitarist. Little Pattie Queensland tour

Australian singer Little pattie who has been on the Australian music scene since 1963 with "he's My Blonde Headed Stompie Wompie Real Gone Surfer Boy"/Stompin at Maroubra" is touring Queensland which happens on September 29th through October 18th and will be performing her stuff from her hits, swing,jazz,rock and roll and contempoary stuff. She's been inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame, peformed in Vietnam, an member of the Bandstand Family (the music show on Channel 9 hosted by Brian Henderson) and has performed all around the world. She puts on an great show and gets everyone going which it's my 6th seeing her live and I have met her 4 times which she is an nice and friendly person. I'm sure you will enjoy her show as it will bring back memories for those who grew up in the 60's in the days of bandstand, Sing Sing Sing, saturday Date and others and it should be an great show to see. On Saturday September 17th I went to the Myer Center cinema in the city to see the movie Horrible Bosses. Nick Hendricks (jason Bateman) is an executive who works for an financial firm and is manipulated into jumping through hoops to get an promotion in which his boss David Harken(Kevin Spacey) gets it himself, Dale Arbus(Charlie Day) is an dental assistant who is getting sexually harassed by his boss Dr Julia Harris(Jennifer Aniston) who threatens to tell his fiancee Stacy (Lindsay Sloane) that he had sex with her unless he does it himself and Kurt Buckman (jason Sudeikis) an accountant who enjoys working with his boss Jack pellitt(Donald Sutherland) but dies from an heart attack and his son Bobby(Colin Farrell) an cocaine addicted amoral son takes over. Over drinks they fantasied about their bosses not being around which even though being hesitant they agree to the idea eventually and they hire an hit man named Jones(Jamie Foxx) and it's getting interesting throughout the film.

Down Under the Oz Rock tribute show @ Carina Leagues Club

On Friday night I went to Carina Leagues Club to see an tribute show called Down Under the OZ Rock tribute show. The show started before 8pm with the guys doing an set of songs by Neil Diamond,van Morrison,the Eagles and John Cougar mellencamp and there was an interval which they changed their stage clothes into the stuff they would eventually do for the Down Under Oz Rock show. the Oz Rock show started around 8.15pm which the guys in the band dressed differently which the first guitarist wore sunnies like on the Angels, the bass player was like one of the members of Skyhooks, the 2nd guitarist and drummer dressed as Angus Young and Brian Johnston(AC/DC) and the piano player wore an bald thing like Peter garrett of Midnight Oil and did an set of great Aussie rock classics from AC/DC, the Easybeats, Cold Chisel, Hoodoo Gurus, the Angels, Ross Wilsom, Dragon, Mental As Anything, Midnight Oil and many others and also the show lasted until 11.30pm which it was ROCKIN & FANTASTIC. The Delltones Queensland tour

Next month legendary Australian singing group the Delltones known for hits like Hangin Five, Come A Little Bit Closer and Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands are touring Queensland. the group with original member Pee Wee Wilson still tours around Australia and put on an FANTASTIC show doing 3 of famous hits and other doo wop songs which first set they do an acoustic set and in the second electric which they put on an FANTASTIC show. I have seen this group 7 times and they just get better and better every time I see them and they are well worth seeing live. if you want to go and see them check them out and I'm sure you will enjoy them which i'm sure for those who remembered them on the days of Bandstand, Six O'Clock ROck and other pop shows it's an trip down memory lane and for those who have not seen them it will be an experience that you will enjoy and never forget. On Friday Night September 2nd I went to kedron Wavell to see legendary British 60's group Hermans Hermits which has original member and drummer Barry Whitwam as part of my birthday week and it was my 8th seeing them live which 6 of them have been @ kedron Wavell. me and Mum caught the bus from Cannon Hill to Chermside and walk to Kedron Wavell which we stopped @ Coles on the way where Mum bought Winfield Gold. went to gallipoi bar which i ordered Beef nachos and saw Matthew Stewart's Aunty and Uncle while waiting for dinner. had Beef nachos for dinner and then went to the Blue pacific Room which i saw michael and Charlotta. the support act was comedian Kenny bennett came out @ 8.15pm doing an 25 minute set telling funny jokes and stories which he was very funny and then there was an interval which I went to the ticket office where I bought tickets for the taylor Dayne show on October 28th and the Rock'n'Roll Spectacular on Sunday november 6th. went back to the Blue Pac

My birthday

On Thursday September 1st i celebrated my 33rd birthday which in the day I went to work where I got cards, chocolates, DVDs, scratchees,movie vouchers from PSA, Vouchers(JB Hi Fi) and Tim Tams Biscuits as well as $20.00 from the Theatre staff and had 2 birthday cakes which the first was with my department Patient Accounts and the 2nd with the Chaplains and some of the executives staff members. From my parents I got CD's by the Moody Blues, The Doors, Ben E King and Cheap Trick , Books about Mao's Last Dancer, Steven Tyler(Aerosmith) and Derryn Hinch and the DVD of the movie "Mao's Last Dancer" and from my brother Heath got an CD by US country singer Charley Pride. Thursday night went to my cousin Allan's cafe "Creek Road Cafe" which it's on Creek Road Carina with mum, Dad and Heath where I had Chicken Kiev salad and chips for dinner, had an cake and got vouchers from both my cousins Allan($20.00 Westfield) and Mary(JB HI FI $50.00) and also

This month legendary Australian singer whose has been around since the 60's Issi dye will be touring Queensland and will be playing in the gold coast and brisbane areas. the support act for 3 of the shows will be Leisa Kerris whose does an Connie Francis segement in her show. I have seen Issi live 5 times which 4 were @ Wintersun when it was on the Gold Coast @ Coolangatta and Kedron Wavell in Brisbane on sunday september 13th 2009 and always puts on an FANTASTIC show doing classic rock'n'roll songs which everyone has an great time.
