Every Night's A Saturday Night is the autobiography of legendary American sax player Bobby Keys which was released in the USA last year but was just released in Australia recently. In this book Bobby talks about his upbringing in Slaton,Texas which it's 15 miles south east of Lubbock (where legendary rocker Buddy Holly) as he was raised by his grandparents, first heard Buddy Holly playing at a grand opening of a gas station at the age of 12 which he got to hang around with Buddy and the Crickets, took up the saxophone as it was the only instrument left in the school band, toured with acts like Buddy Knox(Party Doll), Bobby Vee and other acts on the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars tour, worked with George Harrison,Joe Cocker, John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, first recorded with the Rolling Stones in 1969 when he played on a track called Live With Me which he joined them in 1970 when they went on tour and also played on 7 of their albums including Sticky Fingers,Exile On Main Street as

Brisbands is the self published magazine done by ANdrew Ainsworth who has done the Primitif Sounds magazine that has Brisbane groups from the 60's as well as having done Ain't Got No Feelin magazine as well and in this magazine is volume no 3 what has an interview with Steve Venn of the LEather Souls and the Cherry Tree which he talks about the groups early days in Aspley an suburb inBrisane as well as playing at dances,parties, weddings as well as playing at the Battle of the Sounds show in 1966 as well as changing the groups name to the Innocents and eventually the CHerry Tree who played @ places like the Red Orb,the Snoopy's Hollow, National Hotel as well as the BAttle of the sounds in Brisbane in 1970 etc and the interview with Toni mcCann was actually done by Beccy Connell who does the fanzine Born Loser which that happened a few years ago which Toni talks about her start in Brisbane as well as her time in London as well as her career and her life now and also h

Last Friday night July 19th I went to Carina Leagues Club to see the Funsters an local group who play around Brisbane and the Gold Coast which it was my first time seeing them and 2 of the members Greg and Rose are an also an sing duo called Chi Chi.Dad took me to the club around 6.20pm which I had for dinner Lasanga,chips and salad and for desert had Ice Cream. The show started @ 8pm which for the 3 and an half hours they did songs from the 60's up to the current top 40 by acts like the Monkees, Dragon, Creedence, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Jones,Queen, the BEatles and many others and in between intervals had drinks of water. The show finished @ 11.40pm which I thanked the group and caught the cab home. The show was excellent which everyone had a great time including myself and the Funsters were just excellent with great singing by Rose as well as great playing by Greg and the others and I look forward to see the group again soon. A month ago I did a email interview with Peter Williams an member of Max Merritt and the Meteors(1961-67),founding member of the popular Australian group the Groove and a member of the Mixtures and I have 3 parts of the interview talking about each of the groups that Peter were in as well as seeing a comment on the Go Set page on facebook said by Peter that he had not been interviewed by historical websites in Australia and New Zealand as well as info about Max Merritt and the Meteors is totally inaccurate so that inspired me to do this interview. The Platnium Album is the new compilation of legendary Australian singer and lead singer of legendary Australian group The Seekers Judith Durham who had turned 70 over 2 weeks ago. On this CD it has 4 Seekers recordings including the classic hits The Carnival Is Over and Morningtown Ride as well as 2 new songs Forever and Ever and (When You Come To the End Of) A Perfect Day as well as the songs she recorded from the 60's up to 2011 as well as some rarities including Bonny Face written by Manfred Mann member Mike D'Abo as well as her version of I am Australian with Russell Hitchcock(Air Supply) and the late Mandawuy Yunupingu(of Yothu Yindi) which she had a hit with it in 1997 and many others. Long Live Love The Very Best Of is the new greatest hits by legendary British singer Sandie Shaw. On this CD it has the classic hits she made back in the 60's including LOng Live Love, There's Always Something There To Remind Me, Girl Don't Come, Puppet On A String, Tomorrow,Monsieur Dupont as well as the songs she recorded back in the 80's including Anyone Who had A Heart as well as 2 with the British group the Smiths as well as a recording in 2007 and B-Sides . It is an AWESOME and an BRILLIANT CD with great songs that still endures after 49 years when She came on the scene and an guy called Bob Stanley from the Salvo label doing the liner notes as well as Sandie shaw is involved in this compilation as she owns the rights to her recordings. This CD is a must for any fans of Sandie Shaw as well as fans of 60's muisc which I give this 5 stars and it's in the shops now.

the Avengers @ Easts Leagues Club July 12th 2013

On Friday July 12th I went to East Leagues club to see the group the Avengers which it was my 16th time seeing them as well as my 7th time so far this year. I caught 2 buses to easts which I caught one from Cannon Hill to Carindale and then caught another bus to Coorparoo. I had Nachos for dinner and for desert had chocolate mudcake and ice cream which prior to dinner I saw Roger. The show started @ 7.30pm and for the next 4 hours they did 4 sets of classic songs by the Beatles,Elvis Presley,Buddy Holly,Cliff Richard,an medley of Searchers songs, Jerry lee Lewis,Dire Straits as well as adding songs by Dragon, the Police and and I heard it Through the Grapevine which sounded great and in the 3rd break between sets Mick bought me a bottle of water as well as the line up are the same at the moment with Glenn as Graeme still on holidays. The show finished @ 11.30pm and I thanked the guys which i spoke with ROger about the Old ROckers Get TOgether and the Rock n Roll Spectacular show in Oc
