Two Kings Of Rock'n'Roll show @ Kedron-Wavell

On Friday night November 26th I went to see Two Kings of Rock'n'Roll show starring Dennis Knight and Dean Vegas at kedron-Wavell Services Club. It was my 3rd time seeing Dean Vegas and it was my 8th seeing Dennis Knight and they are excellent performers. the show was FANTASTIC which the back-up band were great and the 2 ladies who are from local group Masquerade were just as excellent doing the back ground vocals. Dennis Knight opened the first half which he did the Johnny O'Keefe stuff which he was GREAT and told stories about how he had paged Johnny O'Keefe in Perth asking him to do it, buying an expensive scotch as well as touring with Bill Haley and Roy orbison and he finished his set with 2 Roy orbison songs "Pretty Woman" and "Crying" and bought an Dennis Knight Cd "Timeless" during the break. My Weekend on the Gold Coast-November 14th

The 3rd and last day of my weekend down the coast with Mum began as i got up @ 7.20am, went to Fagan's restaurant which i had cereal and a hot breakfast and saw Torrie who is Emma's Daughter whom I've known since she was a baby which she was there with a friend. Left Greenmount after breakfast, Mum went to 7-11, i had an look at newsagent an a CD sale, went to a shop where I bought Cards, caught a bus to Robina, ate Sausage Roll, caught train, got off at South Brisbane and Caught train back to cannon Hill which dad picked us up and came home. I had an great time down the coast and it was an very nice weekend trip.

My Weekend on the Gold Coast-November 13th

On Saturday November 13th my second day on the Gold Coast with Mum started with me getting up @ 7.47am and went to Fegan's restaurant where I had an Hot breakfast and yogurt which it was very nice. Went to Coolangatta which I went to the Internet Place where I checked my emails and caught a bus to Tweed City Shopping Center. Had an look at ,newsagent, QBD, Bookworld, JB Hi Fi, Sanity and Big w, Had an Salad roll for lunch, had an another look at JB hi Fi where I bught a CD by the UK 60's pop group the Move and caught an bus back to Tweed Heads. Had a look at Collins Bookshop and a shop called DIDB's, went to 7-11 where I got an slurpee and a Kit Kat and went back to Greenmount. had an quiet afternoon which I went for a swim and for dinner had Scallops,ham and chips which me and Mum had it on the balcony. 2 weeks ago on November 12th-14th me & Mum went to Coolangatta for the weekend as I was actually supposed to see 2 shows US rock groups the Turtles and Three Dog Night at Twin Towns on Friday the 12th and the Barron knights on the 13th but the Turtles was cancelled which I was very disappointed as I was so looking forward to seeing them and had to choose to see a free show. Friday November 12th Me and Mum caught an train to South Brisbane station and then caught an train to Robina which we arrived by after Midday. Mum & I caught the bus to Coolangatta after 1pm and went to Big Chiefs which I had Chicken and Chips for lunch and Mum had Fish,chips and salad for lunch and also an bird touched Mum's lunch which was very funny. Dusty and Friends show @ Kedron-Wavell

On Sunday November 21st me and my Mum Cath went to see Sharon Rowntree doing the Dusty & Friends show @ Kedron-Wavell Services Club which it was FANTASTIC. I had seen Sharon live twice @ Kedron-Wavell for the Rock'N'Roll Spectacular on SUnday october 25th last year and August 29th this year and the Shake Rattle and Roll show @ Twin Towns show on June 9th this year during Wintersun. But it was the first time I had seen the Dusty and Friends show and Sharon was just AWESOME doing those songs from Dusty Springfield as well as the other artist. This show was a present for Mum whose birthday was on Monday which i wanted to take her there and she enjoyed it too. Before the show I saw an lady called Karen who knows my friend Kimberley Webb whom I've known since pre school in 1983. Just last week I bought this book @ QBD in Carindale and it's called "Elvis My best Man" written by George Klein an Disc Jockey as well as part of Elvis Presley's inner circle. In this book he talks about first meeting Elvis @ Humes High School in North memphis in 1948 in 8th grade, doing his radio career in memphis on WMC, Touring with Elvis as hanging around with Hollywood stars, the good times in Graceland, hosting his own TV show called "Talent Party", Elvis' death and many others. it's a excellent book to read which George tells a lot of very good stories and candidly writes about the Elvis he knew and how he acted behind the scenes, It's an must for any Elvis Presley as well as rock'n'roll fans and it's in the shops now. i give it 4 and a half stars.

The Barron Knights concert @ Twin Towns

Last Saturday night I went to Twin Towns where I saw the British comedy group from the 60's the Barron Knights as the group are celebrating 50 years when they were formed and the current line-up of the group are original members Pete Langford & Butch Baker, temporary bassist Simon Yates and drummer Lloyd Courtenay. The show was packed and it was FANTASTIC & FUNNY as they did a mixture of rock'n'roll and fun which they told funny stories including Butch telling the story about him & Pete being on a train as they went pass a station they were supposed to get off and when the train approached the other station they jumped on the platform and the train stopped the people got off. They were on for an hour and half which i really enjoyed and I could the others enjoying it too and after the show they had CD's on sale which I got autographs and photos with the guys and also I asked Lloyd about is current bass player Mickey Groome still with them which he is but wi

Late Late At Night by Rick Springfield

Just a few weeks ago the book Late Late at Night by Australian singer Rick Springfield was released. In this book Rick talks about his childhood in Australia as well as spending a few years in England, performing in Vietnam with an band called Rockhouse which featured the late Pete Watson of the mid 60's Australian group MPD Limited, played in an group called Wickedy Wak in Brisbane, joined the Australian group Zoot which featured Daryl Cotton and Beeb BIrtles as well as playing on the single "Eleanor RIgby", having solo success with Speak to the Guy, Moving to the USA where he's had most of his success with hit records including Jessie's Girl, Affair of the Heart, Human Touch, Don't Talk to strangers etc as well as his acting including playing Noah Drake on the US daytime soap "General Hospital", battling depression, thoughs of suicide, the death of his father and others. Last Sunday November 7th went to see the movie "the Social Network" at South Bank Cinema. It's 2003 and Mark Zuckerberg(jesse Eisenberg) who is an student @ Harvard has been dumped by his girlfriend Erica Albright (Rooney Mara) and has an idea to create an website to rate the attractiveness of the Harvard female undergraduates which it's called FACEMASH which he gets into a lot of trouble. Last Saturday November 6th I went to see the Movie Life As We Know it at Balmoral Cinema. Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) who is owner of a bakery in Atlanta and Eric Messer (josh Duhamel) who is an television technical sports director go on a disatrious first date which was set up by their friends Allison(Christina Hendricks) and Peter (Hayes McArthur) . Holly is the maid of honor @ Allison's weding to peter and Allison gives to a daughter Sophie and the common thing with Messer and Holly that is their dislike of each other and their love of Sophie in which they are the godparents. their lives are changed forever when Allison and Peter are killed in a car accident and are named legal guardians for Sophie which they have to live at Sophie's house and also it would lead to interesting stuff throughout the movie. For an man who's lived the rock'n'roll life for more than 45 years with the Rolling Stones who were formed in 1962 with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones, had their first hit single "Come On" in 1963 which went to no 21 in the UK and created the riffs, lyrics and songs like Jumpin Jack Flash, Honky Tonk Women, Satisfaction, Street Fighting Man etc that still endures today.
