This is the memior of Kim Campbell wife of legendary American country singer Glen Campbell and in this book she talks about their first meeting, their marriage which would last for 35 years and having 3 children, dealing his issues with alcohol, encounters with Jane Seymour, Lee Ann Womack and Mick Fleetwood, dealing with his diagnosis with Alzheimers which eventually he passed away from it in 2017 and many others. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as sad, funny and touching and also very entertaining and it well worth an read. It has been 5 years since the passing of Glen Campbell but the great music he made lives on and still sounding great better than ever. This is an must for Glen Campbell fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Still Crusin by the Beach Boys

For the last lost classic segment for 2022 let's have a look at the 1989 single by the Beach Boys Still Crusin. The Beach Boys who had an string of hits in the 60's and 70's had an bit of comeback in the late 80's with Kokomo which was from the movie Cocktail going to number 1 in the USA and Australia and in 1989 had the single Still Crusin which was written by lead singer Mike Love and Terry Melcher who produced the single as well. The song was also the title track from the album of the same name and it was from the movie Lethal Weapon 2 starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. It went to number 93 in the USA, number 78 in the UK, number 28 in Australia and number 6 in Brisbane and it's an great track with an great sound which holds up very well to this day.

It was 40 years ago on November 28th 1982 when American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson released the album Thriller which he produced that with legendary American record producer Quincy Jones and it went to number 1 in the USA, UK and Australia. From the album had the hit singles the title track, Beat it, Billie Jean, This Girl Is Mine with Paul McCartney, Human Nature, Wantin Be Startin Somethin and PYT(Pretty Young Thing) and among the musicians who played on the album were Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen) who played on Beat It, the members of Toto David Paich, Steve Lukather, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Porcaro and Janet and LaToya Jackson. The album won 8 Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and it is now being reissued for the 40th anniversary on an double CD. The First CD has the original tracks from the album and the second CD has demos of some songs that never appeared on the album as well as some songs that were b sides as well as some songs that was never released. Los Angeles Forum April 26th 1969 by the Jimi Hendrix Experience

On April 26th 1969 the Jimi Hendrix Experience performed at the Los Angeles Forum which on the bill with them were Chicago Transit Authority soon to become Chicago and Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys and was presented by LA AMradio station KRLA which air personality Jimmy Rabbitt introduced him and did the 11 song set which some of the show had been as part of the short lived box set Westwood One Radio (Lifelines 1990-92) but the whole show has never been released until now and it is out which among the songs that is on the CD including Foxy Lady, Purple Haze, Star Spangled Banner and Voodoo Child. This is the new album by legendary Australian rock band Noiseworks and it's their first album since 1991 with Love Versus Money. It was recorded at Studio 301, Orange, Pow Wow and Megaphon Studios and the songs on the album are written by the members some by Jon Stevens and Steve Balbi as well some with Justin Stanley, Kevin Nicol and the late Stuart Fraser as well as the first track Heart and Soul played by Jack Jones of the Australian group Southern Sons. It is an FANTASTIC album with Fantastic songs with great singing by Jon Stevens and it was produced by member Steve Balbi who also plays with Mi Sex the New Zealand band. It went to number 4 in Australia and Noiseworks will be touring around Australia in the New Year including some Queensland shows in February 2023. I give this 4 stars and it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which You will love it and be impressed.

Creatures of the Night by Kiss(40th Anniversary 2 CD Deluxe Edition)

It was 40 years ago this year when legendary American rock band KISS released the album Creatures Of The Night on October 28th 1982 which it was their last album with Casablanca Records as well as being dedicated to the memory of the label's founder Neil Bogart who passed away from cancer at that time and it went to number 45 in the USA, number 22 in the UK and number 33 in Australia which had the singles the title track which went to number 34 in the UK and I Love It Loud which went to number 102 in the USA and number 76 in Australia. It was the first album that Vinnie Vincent on the album as Ace Frehley left even though he is credited and it was the last for over a decade that would have their trademark makeup. This is the double CD compilation by legendary British rock band Status Quo and this has recordings of the 2000's-2022 period which has re-recordings of the classic songs including Rocking All Over the World, acoustic versions of 2 of their other classics, hits from the 2000's period including Jam Side Down and Beginning of the End as well as Fun Fun Fun with The Beach Boys and Raining in My Heart with Queen guitarist Brian May and many others. It is FANTASTIC, AWESOME AND SUPERB with FANTASTIC and ROCKIN songs with the great Quo sound we all know them for and it sounds Great. It went to number 80 in the UK and the Quo with original member Francis Rossi had just done shows before Christmas in Germany with Manfred Mann's Earth Band and the UK with Shakin Stevens which I hope they will tour Australia again in the future and also Francis Rossi is doing an Tunes and Chat tour in the UK from March-June 2023 and from September-November 2023. On Tuesday I went to the South Bank Cinema at South Bank to see the movie I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Whitney Houston(Naomi Ackie) who is singing with her mother Cissy(Tamara Tunie) as an backing vocalist and then at an club where Cissy was supposed to perform Whitney performs the song The Greatet Love Of All which in the audience was Clive Davis(Stanley Tucci) who works for Arista label and he is impressed with her which he signs her up for the company. She starts achieving success with hits with How Will I Know and I Wanna Dance With Somebody but then she gets criticized for not sounding black enough as well as issues with her father John(Clarke Peters), meets singer Bobby Brown (Ashton Sanders) who would become her hsuband, having issues with drugs and it gets interesting. In November 1961 Australian rock singer Col Joye released thr Christmas album Joy To The World A Christmas Selection and it was his first Christmas album as well as I think you can correct me it was the first Christmas album done by an Australian rock and roll singer at that time. It wasn't an chart hit as they were no album charts at the time in Australia and there is covers of Christmas classics on the album including Joy To The World, The First Noel, Jingle Bells, White Christmas and I'll Be Home For Christmas which he performed that on Bandstand December 22nd 1962 and December 21st 1963 which it's on the DVD. This should be re-issued on CD as it would be great for many Australian fans who would listen to it.

This was her very first solo album after the Seekers broke up in 1968 and this was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood in October 1968 with Bill Miller as producer. It was released in November 1968 and toured Australian and New Zealand. It was reissued on CD in 2002 and with the recent passing of Judith Durham in August I thought I do this as an tribute.

As this week we are approaching christmas I thought I would do Christmas songs by music acts and I would like to start off with the Eagles' Please Come Home For Christmas. In 1978 American rock band the Eagles released the Chirstmas song Please Come Home For Christmas which was an cover of the Charles Brown song which he did in 1960 and the Eagles version which was the first single for Timothy B Schmidt as an member of the band replacing original founding member Randy Meisner was released on November 27th 1978 which went to number 18 in the USA, number 30 in the UK, number 46 in Australia and number 27 in Brisbane with the b side Funky New Year written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey and it was the first Christmas song to hit the American Top 20 since Pretty Paper by Roy Orbison in 1963. It has been reissued over the years and it holds up very well to this day which it sounds great.

On Sunday Morning I was at home looking on Facebook when I saw the news about the passing of Brisbane musician Vance Lendich which was posted by his daughters and I was sad to hear that as I only saw him at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital in February the week the drummer of the Planets Rob Richards passed away which we spoke for a few minutes little did I know that it would be the last time I would see him. I first met Vance 10 years ago at the Riverside Ballroom in New Farm on Sunday March 25th 2012 at the Old Rockers Get Together which they would get Brisbane groups from the 50's, 60's and 70's perform as te was one of the organisers until 2013 even though he played the following year on Sunday May 18th 2014 and I saw Vance an few more times at St Andrews in the last few years with his wife Toni who passed away on September 26th this year which in August 2019 he dropped records off for me which I appreciated that. On Sunday I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the movie Matilda The Musical. Matilda Wormwood (Alisha Weir) who lives with her opressive parents (Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough) goes to an new school where she deals with the tryannical teacher Agatha Trunchbull(Emma Thompson) as well as Miss Honey (Lashana Lynch) who is more friendly with the students and Matilda who has an sharp mind as well as vivid imagination starts to stand up to her teacher and to her parents and it gets interesting. It's very good, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Emma Thompson who played the role of Agatha Trunchbill very well, Alisha Weir, Stephen Graham, Andrea Riseborough, Lashana Lynch and Sindhu Vee.
