I Wanna Dance With Somebody

On Tuesday I went to the South Bank Cinema at South Bank to see the movie I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Whitney Houston(Naomi Ackie) who is singing with her mother Cissy(Tamara Tunie) as an backing vocalist and then at an club where Cissy was supposed to perform Whitney performs the song The Greatet Love Of All which in the audience was Clive Davis(Stanley Tucci) who works for Arista label and he is impressed with her which he signs her up for the company. She starts achieving success with hits with How Will I Know and I Wanna Dance With Somebody but then she gets criticized for not sounding black enough as well as issues with her father John(Clarke Peters), meets singer Bobby Brown (Ashton Sanders) who would become her hsuband, having issues with drugs and it gets interesting. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB as wll as Sad with FANTASTIC and Excellent acting by Naomi Ackie, Stanley Tucci, Tamara Tunie, Ashton Sanders, Clarke Peters and Nafessa Williams who plays Whitney's friend and assistant Robyn Crawford. it is directed Kasi Lemmons and produced by Clive Davis, Pat Houston, Anthony McCarten, Jeff Kalligheri, Denis O'Sullivan, Larry Mestel, Molly Smith, Thad Luckinbill who is known to soap opera as EJ on the Young and the Restless, Trent Luckinbill, Matt Jackson, Christina Papagjika and Matthew Salloway. It will be 11 years in February since Whitney Houston passed away but the great music she made lives on and you still hear the music on radio as well as streaming and many others. I am giving this 4 and an half stars and it is in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be amazed and impressed.
