No Time To Die

On Wednesday I went to the Events Cinema in the city to see the movie No Time To Die. James Bond(Daniel Craig) who has left active service is living life in Jamaica after leaving Italy and his relationship with Madeline Swann(Lea Seydoux) whose mother had being killed by Lyutsifer Safin(Rami Malek) broke up and is contacted by Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) from the CIA about the kidnapping of MI6 scientist Valdo Obruchev (David Denick) which he initally declines but eventually does it and goes to Cuba which he attends the birthday of Ernst Stvaro Blofield (Christoph Waltz) who is in jail and orders his men to kill Bond instead kills the Spectre members instead on the order of Safin as Obruchev had reprogramed the nanobots to infect them. Bond eventually tracks down Madeline to Norway where he learns that she has a daughter Mathilde which she tells him about how Safin's family being killed by her father and then goes after Safin which gets interesting. Just 2 weeks ago on Thursday december 16th while I was at work having an break I had an look at Facebook on my mobile and I saw the news that legendary Australian singer/musician/Songwriter/record producer Rob EG aka Robie Porter had passed away after an battle of dementia and I was shocked to hear to see that. Robie Porter began recording for Rex with Your Cheatin Heart in 1959 and then in 1960 released 2 singles for Pye records Do You love Me/Whiplash and My First Love/Railroadin. From 1962-64 had successful singles with Festival both instrumentals including Si Senor, Jezebel, 5-4-3-2-1-Zero, 55 Days At Peking and When You're Not Near (Vocal) and albums including Playing Hawaiian Guitar and the Voice and The Guitar The Vocal and Instrumental Hits of Rob EG. I go to the state lirbary every Friday to do research on music which I put newspaper clippings in my USB to post on the facebook group page that I put together about the Brisbane rock n roll scene of the 50's and 60's and just recently only a month ago when I was at the state lirbary I was looking through the October 1956 of the Telegraph (October 1st-15th) I discovered on the October 13th advert that there was an rock and roll dance was happening in Brisbane at the St Francis' Hall on Elizabeth Street on Monday October 15th which had the Rockettes(Band) as well as winning tickets for the Stan Freberg show, Rock and Roll and Jive, Rock and Roll Disc and Free Prizes and that was amazing to see that. On Friday I was at the state lirbary doing my research as I wanted to look through the Courier Mail October 16th 1956 and I found a photo on the front page of a couple dancing at the dance at St Francis hall which was great to see too. Just last weekend I saw on Facebook on my I pad that Smokie member and last original founding member of the legendary British group Terry Uttley passed away which was a shock to hear about it considering he lost his wife recently and he was stil playing in the band as the other original members Pete Spencer, Chris Norman and Alan Silson are still around but have not played in Smokie for many years. The band was formed in 1964 as the Yens and the Sphynx and Essence with Terry, Alan and Chris but Terry left in 1966 but returned in 1968 which the band was then called the Elizabethans and remained in the band for the rest of his life. they recorded as Kindness for RCA which they released an single Light of Love/Lindy Lou in 1970 but nothing happened and then recorded for Decca which they released 3 singles but nothing happened chart wide and in 1973 Pete Spencer joined the band replacing Ron Kelly which would become the classic line up that would last until 1986 and also changed th

On Monday went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie Boss Baby 2 which it's the sequel to the Boss Baby movie 4 years ago. The Templeton Brothers Ted(Alec Baldwin) and Tim (James Marsden) have grown up and drifted away but then thanks to Tim's daughter Tina (Amy Sedaris) who has become the Boss Baby gets the brothers together and orders them on a mission to go to Tabitha's(Ariana Greenblat) school to stop the principal Dr Erwin Armstrong(Jeff Goldblum) plotting to remove the grown ups which they go to the school which Tim and Ted had taken an formula taking them back to being 7 years old and the baby to stop Armstrong and then it gtes interesting. On Sunday I went to the Carindale Events Cinema with my friend Billy and seeing Spider-Man No Way Home. Spider Man/Peter Parker(Tom Holland) who has been framed for the murder of Quentin Beck and his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya), best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and his Aunty May(Marisa Tomei ) are being questioned by the Department of Damage Control. The CD has tracks from the Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas and there is 2 tracks with Abraham Martin and John by Marvin Gaye and Beverley Knight and What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted by Jimmy Ruffin and Micah Paris. It is an FANTASTIC and Brilliant CD with great songs blended with the Philharmonic Orchestra which works so well and it is just great to hear that. The albeum has gone to number 21 in the UK and it was produced by Brian Rawling an Grammy Winning producer and Paul Meehan. John Harley(Dwayne Johnson) an FBI agent is assigned to help Urvashi Das (Ritu Arya) an Interpol agent in Rome to track down the last egg that belonged to Cleopatra given to her by Marcus Antonius and meets international art thief Nolan Booth(Ryan Reynolds) at the museum who escapes but gets arrested along with Harley which they are in an Russian prison and Booth's main competition Sarah Black aka the Bishop(Gal Gadot) which Harley and Booth teamed together to get that remaining egg and then it gets interesting. It is excellent, action packed, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Ritu Arya and Gal Gadot and it's directed by Rawson Marshall Turner who did the screenplay and also produced by Beau Flynn, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Rawson Marshall Turner. This is the memoir of Australian actress Lynne McGranger and in this book she talks about her upbringing in NSW and Victoria, having an abortion in the early 70's, having an career as a teacher, doing theatre work, joining Home and Away in 1993 as Irene Roberts which she is still on the show to this day, her smoking addicition and many others. It's an FANTASTIC and an BRILLIANT book with impressive, very entertaining and great stories and an FANTASTIC read which it is well worth reading which it's great to know the person behind the image and to know about their life before achieving success. This is an must for Home and Away fans and I give it 4 and an half stars as it's in the shops now so do yoruselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be amazed.

This the memior of American musician and founding member of the legendary American heavy metal band Motley Crue Nikki Sixx and in this book he talks about being partly raised by his mother afer his father left them, living in different places state to state, living with his grandparents, his troubled youth, moving to Los Angeles, working in different jobs including an steel manufacturing shop and an small factory, joined an band called Sister and joined another band called London which would lead to the formation of Motley Crue and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC, Impressive and very entertaining and an great book to read it is well worth it as is amazing to learn about his life before the band and to learn about his life growing up. Ron's Gone Wrong

On Sunday I went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie Ron's Gone Wrong. Barney (Jack Dylan Grazer) who lives with his father Graham(ed Helms) and Grandmother Donka(Olivia Colman) does not have a B-bot as most of his friends have a one as they make friends through the B-bot and connect on the Internet. Barney gets an an slightly damaged B-bot that had fallen out of a truck at the Bubble Store and has an slight malfunction which leads to the attention of an shady executive named Andrew (Rob Delaney)who wants to protect the company at all costs and Barney and his B-bot who he calls Ron become friends and then it gets interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with excellent performances by Olivia Colman, Jacl Dylan Grazer, Ed Helms, Rob Delaney, Zach Galifianakis and Justice Smith. It is directed by Sarah Smith and Jean Phillipe Vine and produced by Julie Lockhart and Lara Breay which Sarah Smith the screenplay with Peter Baynham. I give it 4 stars as it'

Reflections-50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music Judas Priest

This is the new compilation CD by legendary British heavy metal band Judas Priest and it has live recordings from 1978-2008 including Green Manalishi as well as studio tracks from the 70's 80's and 90's and 2018 song Never The Heroes which the CD I am reviewing is the single CD edition of the compilation as there is an Red Vinyl version as well. It is FANTASTIC and ROCKIN with great songs including the live ones which they sound great and ROCKIN and is well worth listening too. The band with founding member Ian Hill and long time member Rob Halford as well as Glenn Tipton since 1974 are still touring which they had done some US dates when it was postponed due to Richie Faulkner's health scare and they will be touring Europe next year. This is an must for Judas Priest fans and I give it 4 and an half stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will love it.

It's 40 years ago this year when the Rolling Stones released the album Tattoo You which featured 4 hit singles Start Me Up, Waiting On A Friend, Little L&T and Hang Fire and among the musicians besides from the Stones who played on the tracks were Nicky Hopkins, Billy Preston and ex Rolling Stone Mick Taylor and Sonny Rollins. The album went to number 2 in the UK and number 1 in the USA and Australia and it is now being re-issued again as it's 40 years since it came out which I am reviewing the double CD edition. On the double CD it has the original tracks that was on the album 40 years ago and on the second CD which has lost and found rarities of songs that were recorded from 1972 up to the late 70's including version of Drift Away and Shame Shame Shame as well as an early version of Start Me up. This afternoon I went to the Elizabeth Theatre in the city to see the Australian movie Nitram. Nitram (Caleb Landry Jones) lives with his parents (Judy Davis and Anthony LaPaglia) who is living a life of Isolation and frustration gets friendly with a lady named Helen (Essie Davis) which he lives with her and is tragicallly killed in a car crash. His anger and lonliness grows and slowly descends into a nightmare that would lead into one of the horrific acts in Australian history. It's Gripping, Fantastic and Brilliant with top and Brilliant acting by Caleb Landry Jones, Judy Davis, Anthony LaPaglia, Essie Davis and Sean Keenan.
